| While searching around
on Ebay, I came across a 01 Leaf Certified Jackie
Robinson Fabrics of the Game Jersey card that the
seller claimed was a 1/1. He noted that the price
guide states this card does not exist. It was a
swatch from Jackie Robinson Negro League jersey.
The card sold in the range of $731.
Still kicking myself for not saving the scan.
I contacted Beckett with this e-mail (June 15,
2002):
"You seem to be very knowledgable about
the hobby. Can you tell me more about this? While
looking in the baseball beckett, I notice in the
01 Leaf Certified Materials "Fabric of the
Game", it states that Card Number 32 Does
Not Exist. I remember seeing that such card on
Ebay last year which was a GU'ed card of Jackie
Robinson. Can you confirm if that was the card
that was suppose to have been pulled? Only reason
I remember it, because the guy made it a point
in his description that it may be a 1/1."
Beckett responded with this:
" #32 was indeed intended to be Jackie Robinson
(a negro league card). Not sure about the status
of the card on eBay last year."
If anyone has a scan of this card, please send
it my way.
