After the release of the original card, the NBA licensing board didn't approve of the card that pictured Michael Jordan wearing the #12. Fleer/Skybox was forced to pull the card from production and replace it with another photo. To my knowledge, the story behind it was that Jordan's jersey was stolen before the start of the game and he wore #12.
