Review: 2005-06 Fleer Ultra Hockey (Review by Ike Newton)

8 cards per pack, 24 packs per box.
"Find an Average of Seven Ultra Rookies Per Box"
"Pull Two Jersey Cards Per Box on average"
"Featuring Fresk Ink Autograph Cards"

   Base Card Scans

Comments:

Crystal clear photography which continues the Fleer Ultra tradition. Nice player selection. .

   Rookie Scans
Comments:

We pulled a total of 7 rookies which match the odds. We also pulled a few Gold parallel RCs which was a bonus. You get also get 1 super short print rookie per box. Same design as base cards, but love the portrait photography for some of the rookies.

   Parallel Scan
Comments:

Gold parallels are 1 per pack and has the traditional gold background. Unlike the Ultra of the past, these do not have the "G" after the number or say anything about "Gold Medallion" on the back.

   Insert Scans
Comments:

The inserts are excellent! Upper Deck kept the clean cut imaging. These would great autographed :)

   Game Used Scan
Comments:

We hit the odds on 2 game used cards. Nice addition to the product.

   The Final Verdict!

I give this product a 4 out of 5 H.I fives. The Crosby's are hard to pull, but they are in there. We hit the odds on the money. Great photography and design. You can also get Fresh Ink autographs in this product. The only improvement I can see added to this product is that the card stock needs to be a little thicker to give it the true Ultra feel to them. Even the foil was thinner than standard Ultra. Overall, this was an enjoyable product to rip open.
