   Base Set Scan
Comments:

The base cards in SP Signature Basketball are individually numbered to just 499 copies. They also boast a creative silver foil pattern along the left side of the card. The back of the card contains a brief commentary on the player along with stats from the past few years.

At one or two base cards per tin, getting all 100 cards in the set could prove a tall task for even the most dedicated set builder.

   Rookie Scan
Comments:

Unfortunately we were not lucky enough to pull one of the rookie cards from the set in our tin. The rookies are numbered to just 299 copies so they should pop up every few tins. All the top rookies from the current year are included in the set as well. However, for the price of the tin and the small amount of cards you get, you might expect to get at least one rookie in the pack.

   Autograph Card Scans

Comments:

You get one autograph card per tin in SP Signature Basketball. The draw to the product is supposed to be the autographs, but when you pay a decent price for that one autograph card, you might hope that it's hard signed and not a sticker like a majority of the autographs in the set. We did manage to get one of the limited serial numbered subset autograph cards, but it did little to meet the expectations I had for the tin before I opened it.

Based on the checklist, there are a lot of nice autographs and variations in the set. There are multi-player autographs as well as some nice AKA autos as well. The problem is that they're few and far between. And at the price point, it may be really risky to try and pull one yourself.

   The Final Verdict!

I rated this box a 2 1/2 of 5 HI Fives. It's not a bad product....it's just a bad product at the current price. For the price of a tin, I'd expect more out of it. You might be better off trying another basketball box with a lot more packs to open than a single tin at this price. It will definitely last longer. Perhaps by including a jersey card, a rookie card.....or maybe even a second autograph card, UD could have won us over a little more. However, with the average autograph from the set selling at a fraction of the cost of a tin, you may want to hold out for discounted prices in the future before you try one of your own.

Not to say the set doesn't have potential. There are some great autograph cards in the set....if you're lucky enough to pull one. If you do hit a big autograph, you may come back and blast us for giving it such a low rating, but if you don't get one, you may be wondering how it even got two and a half on our rating scale.
