Comments:

2006 Topps Baseball is back with "Mickey Mantle". It was nice to see that the Mickey Mantle card is number 7 in this set as well as other sets from this year.The photography on these cards is fantastic. Most of the veteran cards have action shots; although there are some posed shots sprinkled in as well. Across the top of the card is the team name and across the bottom is the players' name and position along with the Opening Day 2006 logo. The blue text is hard to read on the black background when looking straight-on at the cards. The back of the cards has a complete statistical listing of the players' complete history in the major leagues.

Comments:

The rookie cards have something new this year with the inclusion of the Rookie Card Logo on the card. Most of the rookie cards have posed shots as opposed to action shots. The back of the cards have the players' stats from their last year of minor league experience. We pulled (40) rookies from our 36 packs of cards in this box.

   Insert Card Scans
Comments:

The inserts are very plentiful in this box. They include;

  • (36) Sports Illustrated For Kids
  • (6) Ultimate Fan Experience
  • (5) Red Foil Parallels numbered to /2006
   The Final Verdict!

I rate this box a 4 of 5 HI Fives. A very nice quality set for a reasonably low price. You can usually find these boxes in the $25 to $35 price range on the web sites I have checked. Good value for the money in my opinion. If you like collecting rookies; then this box could be what you're looking for.
