Review: 2006 Fleer Tradition Baseball (Review by Ike Newton)

Features "Signature Tradition" a 42 card auto set. "Ken Griffey JR Buyback Autos" 99 1989 Fleer Griffey cards have been bought back and signed for this product. "Traditional Threads" 42 card memorabilia set portraying what memorabilia cards from the '50 would have looked like. "Triple Crown Contenders" 15 cards. "Grass Roots" 25 cards. "Diamond Tribute" 25 cards. "1934 Goudey Greats" 100 or todays superstars printed in 1934 Goudey style

   Base Card Scans

Comments:

Clean design and high quality photography. They are very similar to Topps/Bowman Heritage when it comes to card stock. Very beautiful cards.

   Rookie Scans
Comments:

All of the top rookies are in this set. These are Major League Rookie Cards under the new MLB rookie card rules, but are not their first year cards.

   Parallel Scan

Comments:

There are 2 non-signed parallels for each card (sepia tone and black & white). The black and white seems to be rarer than the sepia tone.

   Insert Scans

Comments:

This product is loaded with high quality inserts. You also have a chance to pull an original Goudey card.

   Game Used Scan
Comments:

Clean design. These are average 1 per box. UD kept it nice and simple which is a plus.

   Redemption Scan
Comments:

This is a redemption for a card from UD's Premium Exquisite Collection. I believe these average 2 per case in this product, so we definately beat the odds.

   The Final Verdict!

I give this product a 5 out of 5 H.I fives. Upper Deck did a great job continuing the Fleer tradition. I believe this product is a sleeper. I was very surprised by the quality as this is a lower end product.
