Comments:

The 2006 Topps Chrome Football design this year is nice and clean looking and historically near the same as regular 2006 Topps Football. I have always been a sucker for the Topps Chrome set of any year, any sport and 2006 Topps Chrome Football is no different. Nice high-quality cards with superb action or posed shots that we expect from a Topps Chrome product. The back of the cards has a complete bio of the player since starting in the NFL. Most of the base cards of newly acquired players are in their respective new team uniforms as well.

   Rookie Card Scan
Comments:

The rookies have the rookie logo right under the Topps Chrome logo on the card. Most of the rookies have nice posed action shots, but there are some that look strictly from training camp because the players are wearing shorts. The back of the cards have the players' bio from their entire college experience. We pulled (19) rookies of one form or another from our 24 packs of cards in this box.

  • (12) regular rookie cards
  • (6) special edition rookie cards
  • (1) autographed rookie card

Comments:

The inserts came in at least every other pack we opened. Here's the breakdown for inserts and refractors we pulled.

    Inserts
  • (6) refractors
  • (2) Hall Of Fame
  • (2) Class of 1983
  • (4) Own The Game
  • (1) Ring Of Honor

Comments:

Our box-topper was a Red Border parallel refractor of Bruce Gradkowski numberered /25. This is a special edition rookie card as well! Nice football contest prize for someone!

   Autograph Scan
Comments:

The autograph from the box is Willie Reid of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The autograph is clean and crisp without any breaks, bubbling or smears. Very nice high-quality autograph.

   The Final Verdict!

I rate this box a 4 1/2 of 5 HI Fives. 2006 Topps Chrome Football is a winner. I would not hesitate to purchase this product at all because of the high quality of the base set, refractors and autographed cards in the box we opened to review. The cards are all very nicely centered and that makes for a real nice set from Topps. Glad to see a guaranteed autograph in every box in Topps Chrome finally. You can usually find these boxes in the $64 to $77 price range. Good value for the money in my opinion.
