Ok so I haven't been following anything other than the Nucks this year. I'm wondering who is a real decent (ok maybe not the best) player on your team or that you know of, that I haven't heard of. What makes them so good?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

ill say martin hanzal of the coyotes. hes big 6'6 and around 230lbs. he's more of a definsive forward who plays on the penalty kill. but he has some offensive touch with 22 goals and 75 points in 175 career games. and he's starting to get some power play time. hopefully he will be a coyote for a long time.

I agree!!!

this guy has been surprising me a lot Matt Moulson

on pace for 40 goals.

I am in the NY area, so all I hear is Tavarez, Gaborik, Moulson, Del Zotto.....

That being said, the guy on ´´my´´team that gets little to no credit, is Matt Gilroy.

His points are not as high as his rookie counterpart ...del zotto.... but he is one of the best offensive defensemen the Rags have seen. As I have alluded to, he plays behind del zotto however. The Rangers have 3 unbelievably talented D men right now, which is awesome, stall being the third.

This is from one of his interviews...

´´Why did you choose BU´´
´´It was the only place that said yes to me. When I was walking on, I understood I probably couldn't play as a walk on and they didn't care who you were drafted by, if you were a higher recruited kid, how many points you had in juniors. When it came down to make the decision on who's going to play, [BU head coach Jack Parker] was going to put the best players out there. I came here with no promises. He said you have to earn everything and if you do and show us you can play, I'll put you in.´´

He went from a walk on, to being a Hobey Baker winner, and NHL stud.

Ian White for Toronto. One of about three players on that team to even care about. Small guy who almost never made it, but does all aspects of the game well, very reliable and fun to watch!!

James Neal is having a solid year. He had 24 goals as a rookie last year. So far this year he's got 12 goals 11 assists in 24 games, he's on pace to have a year for Dallas this year like Loui Eriksson did last year for them.

White reminds me of Darrel Sydor who's managed to hang around for 18 years and been on 2 or 3 Cup teams. Solid and dependable.

rene bourque in cow town, if it wasn't for the injury he would be in the top ten in scoring. and now that he's back off the Injury, his stock is going to sky rocket.
and to the guys promoting matt moulson, that guy is my man crush.

+1

For an undersized player in his position White works hard and gets the job done.

Ladislav Smid. Has 8 points in 21 games as a defenseman who is rarely placed in offensive situations. This kid is a complete package, he's smart, has some skill and will throw the mits down. He is easily my favorite player on the Oilers at the moment, and will almost certainly develop into a top line d-man.

Craig Anderson, Ian White, Antti Niemi (something like that). I wouldn't day "best player" but overall improved and having a good year. Ian White is in a contract year, I hope the leafs sign him to a nice extension.

I'm not convinved about Matt Moulson, guys are pulling his rookie cards that didn't sell in a $2 bin and now are asking $20 for them, (GET LOST!) The same with Anderson, don't falll victim to these price hikes, there are reasons why they were in $1 and $2 bins, when they don't play well anymore (Anderson) or don't play with Tavares (Moulson) they will be useless.

simmonds was who i thought of too...great pick craig

im also not sure about moulson either as much i liked him on the kings. i wish we kept him over purcell, but maybe the change in scenery did do that much for moulson. interesting to see if he can keep it up
