Heroes and Prospects

I opened a few boxes in the past and it was fun. But I never ever pulled something spectacular. Always pulled common GU and AU. No big hits like some I see so often on these boards.

This year, I have to cut down on money I spend on cards because I will become a father in July. I decided that I will cut on ITG stuff. I prefer to put my money on my Nords and Rookies PC.

I will miss doing the base set (I have all of the base sets since the beginning and I am very proud of my binder where I keep all today's big name in their CHL uniform).

I will try to trade for what I need (a few autos from QMJHL guys in their NB teams uniform), but I know it will be tough.

I usually buy enough that I have a few spare base sets. You can have one. PM me in a week or so.
 
Love this set and looking forward to this years Memorial Cup Champs Inserts...Killed last years set in about a week maybe I can do this years even faster =)

I can't wait to open some boxes of this when it hits the market and hopefully get in on the cross Canada tour with TheIceBox again this year. The only disappointment i ever get from the product is hitting the last pack and the empty box sitting in front of me without another to rip right after. I have pulled back from the amount that i usually open due to the fact that i just can't enough of BTP.
 
Can't wait for my case to come in on Thursday. I have already pre-sold four sets for the first time ever. This is one of those rare products that generate orders for years to come.
 
It's Release Day

Collectors;

Today is release day for Heroes and Prospects.

The product is loaded with great "hits" good luck to all of you with your boxes.

I hope you enjoy collecting this product as much as I did making it.

Heroes and Prospects is now in it seventh season and I would like to thank all of the collectors who have contributed to it long successful run.

I know in these economic times manufacturers have to earn your purchases, so I hope you feel that we do with Heroes and Prospects.

Can't wait to open my case today.

The only problem is I have 11 hours of work followed by 3 hours of school.

So in that hour when I get home and before I go to bed, I need to crack at least 6 boxes (assuming that my fiancee leaves me 6 boxes).

Thank you again Brian, this is the one product I look forward to every single year.
 
Dr. Price, I know many folks who will be busting this product today and over the next few weeks.
 
Its funny, its favorite set of 90% of the replies, but that product have no "Market value" except a few 1/1.
When people loves it, suppose to sell good no ?

I posted that it is one of my best sellers...over time. For me, if I get 30% of my initial investment back in the first month I am a very happy camper. Last year I got close to 50% back in the first week! I know that the remaining portion will be recouped back in six months or so and then after that everything is profit for me.

For me, the sales seems to go like this:

Weeks leading up to release date
Presale sets - 10% of the cost

First day/week:
Autos and GU on Ebay 15%
Team Collectors/Player Collectors 10%

Week 2-4
Base Set Builders after they get done breaking boxes and Autograph hounds

Month 1 - 6
Set collectors for Jersey/Autograph that can't find them cheap on Ebay anymore, or people that get that wild hair up their ... and want to build a set

Month 7 - Year 2 of this product when players get drafted, change teams, or graduate to the NHL I see another run of player/team collectors

Year 2+ of this release when kids don't pan out and go over to Europe, I see international orders for these players.

That has been the break down of almost every Heroes and Prospect product since 2004 and that is why I love this.
