2011-12 Panini Dominion Hockey Cards
There's high-end and then there's high-end.
2011-12 Panini Dominion Hockey falls into the latter. Rivaled only by The Cup from Upper Deck, 2011-12 Panini Dominion Hockey boasts some of the most collectible cards of the year. With six hits per single-pack box, it's pricey. But if history repeats itself, the limited print run and compelling content, these prices will hold very well. Just like the worlds of art, cars, fine wine and jewelery, those who can will collect the best.
Every box comes with an
Autographed Rookie Patch card that is numbered to 199 or less. From Calder winner Gabriel Landeskog to sniper Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, these will be some of the most sought after rookie cards from the 2011-12 rookie class.
Boxes also come with two additional autographs and three more memorabilia cards. These include the first memorabilia pieces from Panini of the new Winnipeg Jets. It's also the first set from the company to include Gordie Howe swatches. Collectors can look for over-sized patch pieces in
Peerless Patches and Mammoth, among others.
Sweeter by the Dozen are massive book cards that offer 12 memorabilia pieces.
Strapping Lads has pieces of fight straps, one of the smaller pieces of a jersey.
Tape to Tape see players sign on hockey tape, offering a unique look and feel.
Engravatures return, updating the set to include the 2010-11 Boston Bruins. The set celebrates Stanley Cup champions with name plates engraved in real silver.
Panini has said that more focus being paid to making all aspects of 2011-12 Panini Dominion Hockey more unique. This means fewer parallels and more distinct designs.
