You aren't the only one. Aside from the price which is insultingly high for the general quality (ITG Ultimate is the superior product in my eye, and they do not often come out of the pack with frayed edges, damaged swatch windows, bend corners, etc.), I just do not care for the rookies at all, and their same old players over and over and over do not inspire me with any confidence. Hasn't Bobby Orr autographs in Upper Deck products been milked to death, or do people still care anymore?
For me, the big kicker is that it all comes to the player selection. I do not enjoy the hobby to resell everything for as big a profit as possible. For this reason, I certainly wouldn't spend $500+ that could go to a better venture for my collection on a product focused on rookies and the same old same old guys over and over and over and over (how many times do you need a Brad Richards autograph). "But there's 1/1s" has been a counterpoint against this logic of mine once...but the question nowadays is, what doesn't have a 1/1 nowadays?
And this year's Cup design is almost as bad as the 2006-07 one. So bland, and unappealing to the senses.
