Well, it's finally done. I've completed my Henrik Lundqvist Rookie Year collection! I'll never have the 1/1s that are stuck in Kevin's (SkyFire47) collection for eternity, so I'll always be 2nd best lol - but I'm OK with that. This has been a decade-long process to collect all these cards, but I do believe I have the 2nd best Lundqvist RC collection in the world - as I haven't seen anyone else with ALL of the (licensed) 2005-06 releases.
I was beginning to lose hope I would ever complete it, but within the last 6 months, the last 3 cards I needed found their way into my collection.
Through some facebook posts, someone pointed me to HI member lumm0x, who had never sold a Carter auto, but also had stopped collecting Carter. I honestly never thought I'd find this card because of the caliber of players on it, and knowing one was in Kevin's collection, and at least 2 were in Lee's (TheRussianRckt) Ovechkin collection. But lo and behold, Kelly was nice enough to let this one go:
Through some more facebook posts, I found collector Rick Krahn, who apparently pulled this years ago. It's only the second one I've ever seen on the market besides Kevin's, which he said took years to obtain from the collector who had it. Thanks Rick, for the deal and for letting me own this card:
And the last card I needed was super tough, as it's only /5 and I knew where 3 of them were - locked up in Lundy PCs. Luckily, after years of me asking, Matt (AndroSFL) finally agreed to sell me the only Lundqvist auto card he's ever sold, and it's a damn beauty. Thank you Matt:
