New Scam that was Just Brought to My Attention..Fake Sticker Autos

Trust me its alot harder than that guy makes it look. You can easily tell if that scam has been pulled. As he also said if you actually take a good look at the sticker its obvious that it has been bladed.

Ask myself or anyone who has tried to remove sticker autos from one card to use on a custom made card. Of course we aren't forging autos, just trying to use the already in place auto on a custom card.

I can't believe he ruined a "Sheek Congo" autograph. I'd have gladly sent him something slightly more worthless in trade to guinea pig with.

WOW..Why is he showing this?!? Now people will see this and start doing this. Unbelievable.
Where did the good old days go, where a pack went for .15 and a bubble gum was in the pack. Where there was no scammers. It's just sad. :(
Also I never figured out how people do fake patches?

Is this really that big of a deal? All you're doing in removing the sticker is creating a new card that doesn't exist.

Buyers need to be held accountable too. Do your homework before buying a card.

I agree.. Ive got lists of published canes cards. I have yet to encounter a fake that isnt on the list... I would definitely research in depth if I ever found one that was an offshoot I didnt recognize.

meh...that's not that big a deal. too many factors make this retarded.

1. putting an auto on an un-auto'ed card is too obvious considering mostly everyone knows what sets are and arent' auto'ed.
2. the guy now has to fake a signature.
3. which leads back to him having to put it on something.

at least with patch cards, the patch was expected to be there. its the buyers that should be held accountable. you'd be surprised how little one actually has to do to do their homework.

Well look at it this way.... you can now fix your own UD cards... they like to put stickers on upside down or mix and match players, much faster than their CS.

I'll second that motion. Unless you're after replacing a crappy smudged signature, which only really matters for grading, this "talent" isn't worth much.

How many companies do stickered buybacks? That's the only time I see this being problematic unless they affix holograms to the back of the cards.

The only way I could see this working is if Topps doesn't have a certification on the back. If the sticker hologram itself acts as the cert, that could be really bad. Imagine if 06-07 Parkhurst had sticker autos AND the sticker itself acted as the certification.

Basically any set where the only difference between the base card and auto'd card is the auto itself.

Still I maintain that if you actually tried this most of the hologram and what not scrapes off the sticker, and then it doesn't stick very well to the new card. I have tried this for customs, and unless your blind its very obvious.

For Topps cards it is a big deal. For example, take the older Bowman autos for Baseball. They were sticker autos on regular cards. On the back there was a little COA sticker but nothing different on the front. Now Topps wised up and does not use that sticker on the back and has that Certified Auto thing on the front.
