Hi Everyone,

Well, unfortunately I don't have any pics today. I do have cards picked out but the guys were ready to leave and I didn't have time to change my setup to take the pcis for you.

But, tomorrow, I will post today's pic, tomorrow's pic, and a much clearer version of yesterday's botched pic.

Today, I photographed - wait for it - 8,685 cards! Running total of 21,866 cards. I was on a mission today, and basically did not stop for 15 hours straight, other than lunch and dinner.

It is strange but I could have kept going. The experience of being with guys who are packing the cards has been awesome. Actually seeing all these cards together is just really cool. One thing that I want to stress is just how carefully these guys seed each and every pack. Yes there will be some sub-par packs, but they really do try to get the most value they can into each one. I am very happy about that and think it is very encouraging.

Another thing is that the patches are in the cards right-side up! Seriously, there are so many just sick patches that could have been upside down but I would say that well over 95% are in the cards properly. Actually, I have only seen one patch upside down but to be conservative, I'll go with "well-over 95%). If you collect Wheeler, Hasek (two in particular who's patches have caught my eye, there was one Hasek card that could win best patch ever, seriously) or any Bluejacket you are going to love watching box breaks and ebay. Crazy sick stuff!

All the cards go through my photo station first before to the packers so I constantly need to make sure they have enough of each card (1 - 6). So if I fall behind, I become the bottleneck and would miss capturing cards so they could keep packing. Thankfully, I quickly became very efficient at this task and have not ever fallen behind. Actually, I have a very comfortable cushion going into tomorrow.

Overall, this has been an exhilarating experience, to say the least. When I think back over my 30 years of collecting, I never would have thought this would happen and I am so thankful it has; for both just being here and being able to capture the images for security reasons.

Anyway, enough babbling. I need to sleep since tomorrow will be another long one.

Cheers,
Jeremy

21,866? Oh my goodness, get a chiropractor on stand-by for when you return home - your back must be hurting bad! Looking forward to seeing the Hasek, that is going to be interesting.

I asked on one of the other threads, did Karvin say when the checklist was going to be released? Also, are there any Tom Sestito rookie patches, possibly even a shield?

Long hours Jeremy, get some sleep already! I'm so glad we can buy those "sick" patches w/o worrying about fakes now. Kind of puts a lot more excitement into the wax busting process too, knowing that the value will be there.

Sestito has an auto/patch RC.

Al, I'm running on something here that's been keeping me going. Excitement probably. But I am exhausted and am hitting the sac now.

By tuesday you will be running on air. your fly by night posts are definitely something I look forward to everyday. maybe you could sneak a blues patch in there..

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but... Did they take the upside down patch out of the packing after you found it and FIX IT? I'd hate to think that they'd send it out after being fully aware of the problem PRIOR to shipment.
Thanks, Jim

Thanks for the update, I am hoping you have not seen a single Hejduk card, which in turn will make my wallet jump for joy!

Awesome stuff Jeremy! Try to get a picture of an Iginla Honorable Numbers posted if you can!!! :D

Jeremy, once again many thank you's for your superlative effort with this project. The hobby is in your debt for this work!

case hit

hey Jeremy, something for when you get back, if you could
try and find out how they 'try' to gaurentte a 'case hit' in each
6 box case.

do they have a seperate packing line for case hit tins? and then
throw 1 of them each in a case?

i'd be curious to know this.

c.j.

I'll take a stab at this one since Jeremy is likely exhausted!

An upside down patch probably isn't a cause for replacing the card. I know there are sticklers amongst us who comment on how they are upside down at times, but really, it's probably the least of the issues UD has to deal with. The effort required to make sure everyone is put in properly would greatly increase the costs of production.

And no, it's not a dumb question, and I'm just giving you my personal take, but truly, the effort to fix that one issue probably isn't worth it.

Amazing work Jeremy. I look forward to future updates/pics. :)

On a side note are they still inserting foam into the tins with the "big" hits?

Great work Jeremy,

can you tell me the serial number of the tin holding the Orr 1/1 auto? What about the crosby shield.

Thanks, I await your prompt reply,
Peter

Wouldn't that be the same as pack searching? Can't see jeremy giving you any type of info even close to that.
