The show and tell thread that shouldn't exist

As a former rookie card junkie I've wanted these cards since I learned about their accidental inclusion into packs. Thanks to Clint I've been able to acquire 11 of the 15 from the 2001-02 Upper Deck set. Through another source I've been able to pick up a Jeff Jillson from 1999-00 UD Gold Reserve, and I am currently working on a deal to pick up the Pavel Brendl from the same set. Scappy - I actually saw him dress for a game in Buffalo... not only was he awesome, but he had the most amazing mask I've ever seen.

I think you had replied to my previous posting about these UD Gold Reserve cards. I have seen this card or others and I now have to go though my boxes for you.

Who knew they were rare.

he's been playing in Europe (Sweden & Finland) for last years. Currently is with Kalpa Kuopio at finnish elite league. Doing quite ok there.

So I found two cards - Patrik Stefan #161 a gold one and a silver one. Looks just like the one you have at top.

Awesome collection you got there. Does not Jason Spezza also have a card in that set that was not suppose to exist?

Unforunately, UD did mean to release those Stefan cards. The only ones that I remember that weren't supposed to be made from 1999-00 UD Gold Reserve and 1999-00 UD were Jeff Jillson and Pavel Brendl

He does, which is why I will never complete the set. They just sell for way too much.

Yes he does, but that card will cost two arms and two legs if you can find it.

Ahonen...the no. 1 that never was, I wonder why?

Vorobiev, Yakubov...I know I am not spelling their names right...these astute 1st round picks probably set back the rebuilt of the blackhawks for 5 years!

Smirnov....ah...the enigmatic russian washout.

Aulin....he was suppose to be good, alas for the injuries..
