Just wanted a few notes on this set. Is it still popular as it once was? And is anyone still collecting and trying to put together this set? Any info on this set would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wrong year...this is the 2000-01 Titanium -->>

Hobby rookies were #/99

That other year (2001-02) would be hard to put together a set. I think Ty Conklin was serial numbered 1/1.

EDIT: Sorry...forgot about the parallel ones.

There is someone that was putting together the Titanium Blues from 00-01 apparently.

These were the base cards that were indeed serial numbered to the jersey number.

I did follow up and the high bidder bid (and won) 3 of the auctions that this seller had at the time for three cards less than 25, I think it was Linden, Shanny? and someone else.

Granted this was 2+ years ago, so I have no idea on who it was and if they are still working on the set.

Judging by the results I got back from querying my database of ebay auctions, the big buyer of these is karl0621.

not to hijack this thread, but how are those Titanium /99 RCs received on the market? I have the Luongo Titanium RC from 00-01 in a big lot of Luongo cards I bought and when doing so, I didn't even bat an eye at this card. A few weeks later I realized it was out of 99 and that 10 years ago, a 99 parallel was an extremely tough pull so I'm thinking it might be worth as much as I paid for the entire lot combined

I think the RCs were/are received well, but Luongo like a few others in the set had /99 RCs that weren't RCs (Luongo is 97-98) and I don't know how well those cards do.

They've got their place in the history of the hobby, but actually the values on most of the /99 RCs have come down a bit in the past few years. Only a few of the big names still go for near or over $100. Comrie's down below $30 now, which is hilarious.

I've never owned one of the Blue parallels from that year, but I'd love to. Maybe I can find someone with a huge number (Roenick?) that won't be so expensive.

I was lucky enough to pull a Lemieux /66. Sold it for a very nice price. Not to mention that it took about 8 years for me to track down a single Richter /35.

If I remember I paid through the nose for my Sakic /19 on the bay, but I picked my Tanguay/40 from a dollar bin at a local cardshow :beer:
