This set has been off and on for years.....

I would get close and then break it down and sell off, and the reason I did this was because I originally pulled the Rick Nash below (90/100), but it was taken/stolen from me at a card show and I wanted that as the center piece as it was my card that I pulled. We I was able to swing a deal a few months back and I got it back in my possession which immediately prompted me to do the set again.

Well here it is in all of its glory. Im going for a 3 or more multi color set, so some of the patches need upgrades, some though like the Zetterberg I highly doubt Ill get more than two colors.

Im so glad I was able to complete this set. Now the trick is how to properly display it!

Awesome set! I love the 02/03 years. I was eyeing that Spezza a while ago. I believe I can help with upgrading that Spezza with a 3clr spezza fwap I have. Will send PM.

Incredible patches! And no need to upgrade the Zetterberg; that’s as nice a Wings patch as you’ll see. It’s impossible to get three colors from Detroit back then short of being a shield patch.

A lot of memories here. I remember people breaking case after case of SPA on the beckett message boards and going crazy after these. Classic design. I have a Chistov in my traders, but yours has a much nicer patch.

Awesome looking set! Love those years of collecting! That is a set I would love to do as well! The Nash card is great looking patch! Thanks for sharing.

These bring me back!

Funny story, I pulled a damaged Chistov and sent it in to UD for replacement. Fast-forward about 3 years later and I received the damaged Chistov I sent in back as a replacement for another damaged card.

Epic set. The first year of what has become one of the great staples in the hobby. I remember back when this came out, commons would sell for over $100 a piece. This was such a highly touted rookie class that although had a number of strong performers did not live up to expectations overall (I remember the Chistov and Svitov hype). Thanks for sharing such an amazing and iconic set.

Very awesome. Even awesomer that you snagged NINE!!! of those from me on COMC! I was wondering if they all went to the same person. Very cool set to complete being the first RPA's!

I still have these three that I did not give to COMC and are available if you (or anyone else, you get dibs on the Spezza) are interested.

That’s awesome. Crazy part is I bought the Nash (not 90/100) from a guy on eBay and did an image search of the Nash I bought and it brought me to that guys Photobucket page that had all of those RPAs. When I asked him about the other he said that he sold them all off. I guess they went to you. Lol

I may be in touch about those. I’m tempted to do a second set. I absolutely love this set

Yea. I pulled the Nash when I was 17year old and I was floored. At the time I was offered crazy items in trade and wouldn’t do it. Still wouldn’t.

I remember wanting the Upshall as well but never had luck acquiring it till just recently

Walt

Awesome to read that you were able to re-acquire the original Nash.

Did you see the Spezza here: http://www.hobbyinsider.net/forum/showthread.php?t=435115 Looks like a pretty decent patch upgrade.

Thanks for the show and good luck in your quest to upgrade.

I saw that the other day. I’m debating putting an offer out for it.

Upgrade the Spezza if you wish, but just to point out that 39 was his jersey number when he was with the Sens. When I was PCing Spezza, I searched high and low for THAT PARTICULAR CARD and never found it. Here it is 18 years later. Awesome set!
