I have the opportunity to break a case of this stuff. I've only heard of bad things..... What do you think??? 12 box case for $1K

Hell no...put the cash towards a case of 06/07 SPA. 05/06 was pure, unadulterated, overproduced and wickedly overpriced horsecrap.

No.. The 2006/07 product was much better and included the "left-overs" from 2005/06 so you have the chance of pulling Malkin, Ovechkin, and Crosby RCs from the same product. You would have a hard time finding it at that price though, maybe it would be worth a shot if only for the deal. More experienced SP Authentic collectors will have more to add

For $1000.00 I say yes. That is under $100.00 a box. I definately believe 06-07 was a loaded product but I thought these case are around $1500 or $1800.

Welllllll, this is more of a thinker at the right price point..... I mean, it was so lightly broken, there are still Ovys and Crosbys to hit. As well, we are not seeing Prestigious Pairings, Patches, Chirography, Immortals, etc. coming out of 06-07. So there are some serious hits to be had in the 05-06 boxes. Problem is, at more of a case hit type ratio....
And of course the redemptions would be firewood.....
Under a hundred a box is getting right though.... and a case means a couple case hits, crap product or not.
Too easy to just say no........ I'd say mayyyybbbeeeee........

actually it was NOT lightly broken.. 05-06 SPA was heavily broken. and even then you werent seeing any good hits. it was a heavily broken product that yielded nothing but garbage. if you can get it , you should b payin no more than 50-75 a box for it not to be that bad of a break

05/06 SHOULD have been a good year but Upper Deck effed the whole thing up by overproducing things and releasing SPA in waves, which was pure BS. I believe they even came out and said they should have handled things better. Ranking 05/06 Upper Deck releases is like ranking your top 10 bowel movements.
If you bought any of that stuff and got a huge hit, you were the exception rather than the norm. 06/07 SPA was much better and if the OP is going to spend $1,000 on 05/06, you may as well put in the extra whatever it is to get 06/07. If not, I wish you nothing but the best of luck.

Tell you what. You hand me $1000, I'll hand you $600 BV worth of assorted garbage from that product - and it'll STILL be better than what you'd pull.

This is the truth. I am just saying that a, $1k for a case of 05-06 SPA is one of the best prices I have seen on it to date, making it more reasonable than it has been, and b, 05-06 by the box is awful, but by the case (which is almost unheard of) may be a touch more exciting.
