05-06 UD Rookie Update Getzlaf/Spezza Dual Finally Produced!

Well, not quite.

Sorry to get hopes up (I've been waiting for mine for 25 months now), but I finally landed one of only 4 produced copies of this card :beer:

I've heard various rumours of Eric Staal replacing Spezza on the card if/when it is ever made.
The Upperdeck website keeps saying that the autos are in house, but the card has not been completed/produced yet.

Stickergraph on a Cup plate? Is that normal for Cup plates? The only one I had (2006-07) was hard signed.

On the wrong half of the card no less.....

I'm not sure if all of them were stickers or not.

My other Getzlaf Cup Plate is a sticker auto as well.

love the plate you got there and I think it would be a joke if UD replaced Spez with Staal. You don't replace a card that's already excisting word

I have to say, I've been waiting for the Getzlaf Spezza Rookie Update card for as long as ever as well. Really hoping that it does get produced...eventually. You'd think that if they can drag rookie cards out this long, they might as well start updating old sets as well...stick in a Mike Green Cup rc or Burrows Ult auto rc. Shrug. Very nice plate however =)

To all waiting for this card, I just received word from Upper Deck that the card indeed is being 'remade' with another player, as Spezza won't sign. Getzlaf Staal perhaps, but either way, good to know that it is being done. Hopefully not too much longer.

Maybe Getzlaf stole his lunch money as a kid or something....it seems like everything ELSE has been signed by him, but not this!

Interesting post...it makes alot of us really second guess the answers we get from UD.
Printing plate has been signed, auto's are in house...now I remember why I hate redemptions!

Either way, sweet card and should look great in your Getzlaf PC!

Awesome pickup on the Plate! It will look kind of cool when you get the actual RC with a different player mean while your plate has Spezza on it. Hopefully they get them made soon I would love to get my hands on one!
