Just came across an unopened case of this stuff... very hard to find the OPC version compared to the Topps version. I'm going to break it down and sell by the box, so if you're interested send me a PM! I'll sell each box for $35.00 plus shipping ($11.00 in Canada, $15.00 to the US), with obviously discounted shipping for additional boxes bought. These are near-mint boxes with what I'm assuming is mint packs inside! (EDIT: Holy crap... they're gorgeous boxes! I'd say closer to Mint than not)

Will add a picture tomorrow.

Hey, where's that pic? Seriously though, I never did any of this stuff when it was out, so any info you can provide - number of packs, cards/pack etc. How many boxes do I need to get a set etc.

Yea well... I'm a slacker, deal with it... LOL ;)

Going from memory here... 36 packs in a box... quite a few cards (8 to 12) per pack... and I'm positive it was easy to make the set back then. It's been YEARS since I cracked packs (1983 to be exact), but I do remember making the set was fun and easy.

Picture to be attached.... shortly... ;)

Update: 10 cards per pack, but the 10th card has the old gum stuck to the back and it won't come off easily (if ever). (EDIT: See next post - gum does come off with relative ease on most cards). 132 cards in the checklist... so technically you could complete 2.5 sets from one box of 36 packs!

Wow... the smell of the gum packs brings back a tonne of memories... can't believe the smell still remains!

Ok... so I decided to have a little fun and test my theory... since 36 packs could reveal 2.5 sets, I thought I'd find out how close to 1 set I would get with enough packs to cover that. So... 9 cards per pack (given 1 card stuck to gum) x 15 packs = 135 cards ~ 132 card checklist.

Out of the 135 cards, I got 91 different cards = 68.9%. I actually did manage to get the gum off the other cards, some easily... some not so easily. Out of the 15 gum cards, I needed 5 more. So, out of 15 packs, I got 96/132 cards = 72.7%. Not bad! Especially when you consider there's another 21 packs in my box not opened yet, so collation could have been a factor on the first 15 packs.

I'm going to continue my theory with the remaining 21 packs in the next couple of days to see how close to 2.5 sets I actually get. Damn this is fun... :D
