1989 NYC Topps Archive Auction

Recently picked up a Bernie Nicholls card on Ebay and it notes this 1989 auction.

Although I dont really care about the grading, it's cool they acknowledge where this card came from. I was able to find this list of realized auction prices in another forum (http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=88247 and wondered if anyone has details on what the hockey lots were? Topps still sells the original Auction guides on their site for $75 and there were also a couple on Amazon for about $60. I'm interested in seeing what other Nicholls cards were available but I am not going to drop the money for the catalog.

Not sure what hockey cards were in the original auction, but Topps has been continuously selling simlar pieces for the past 10+ years through "toppsvault" on eBay. Lots of cool items come up as original artwork, photo negatives/slides and contracts with baseball players.

I bought some original artwork used on the back of a Salming Topps card. I think "behind the scene" items like this are pretty cool.

And yes, I would love a copy of the original auction catalog too but not willing to pay that type of price either... :crazy:
