1991 Star Pics Autos

Has anyone ever tried to document a checklist for these autos. All I know about them is that they were randomly inserted into the sets (per Beckett). Does anyone know which ones exist? Were they available in all the versions of the set's distribution. Anyone have scans they could share of the ones they've either pulled or acquired. Were they all signed on the back, or some on the front too? Also I've seen some with some sort of foil stamp authentication, but others (especially the Draft Picks) don't seem to have them. Just wondering if we have a resident expert on these.

I'll try to get scans of mine when I have a chance. I have about a half dozen of them, mainly the older guys. I think I have Cheevers, Mahovlich, Delvecchio, Jagr, and maybe a prospect or two. I think they all have stickers on the back, although the Mahovlich one is wrinkled like someone may have transferred a sticker from another card onto that one. I hope that's not the case though.

I can't speak for the hockey autos but on the non-sport/entertainment end there are lots of forged Star Pics autos floating around with stickers peeled off of other cards. Webjon covers the topic fairly extensively from time to time on his site http://webjon.com/blog/

When I took the Mahovlich out of its penny sleeve, I confirmed that the sticker wasn't originally there. It seems that one of the previous owners didn't like that the sticker was covering part of the autograph (the top part of the M) and moved the sticker elsewhere. There was still sticker residue on the card where the sticker should have been and there is a little bleeding of the ink where it used to be covered.

Except for the Hamrlik, it looks like the sticker has been placed on each of the cards so it would be covering part of the autograph.
