I am going through my Osgood wantlists, based on checklists from the Beckett website, and need some clarification from people more knowledgeable than me!

I've seen listed from 2001-02:
Topps/OPC #85
Topps/OPC #85U (same card, but now in his Islanders outfit)
Topps/OPC Parallel #85
Topps Chrome #85 (plus refractors & Black Border refractors)
Topps Heritage Parallel #85 (plus a limited /50)
O-Pee-Chee #85
O-Pee-Chee #85U (as the Topps #85U)
O-Pee-Chee Heritage Parallel #85 (plus a limited /50)
O-Pee-Chee Premier Parallel

My question is: What is the third item on that list -- Topps/OPC Parallel #85?? It's obviously not the heritage card, as that has a separate listing. Ditto for the actual O-Pee-Chee card, as that has a listing too. So, what IS this card? Anyone able to 'splain this one to me? :)

Cheers, and thanks in advance!

I am just guessing here, but I thought the Topps Heritage set had a light border parallel and the Topps set had a Heritage parallel but I am not sure and just taking a stab in the dark. Mike

After reading my own reply I think I am dead wrong. Ignore as needed....:o Mike

Heritage Parallel was a parallel inserted in the wax in the style of 71-72. Topps had an OPC parallel inserted in the Topps (US) packs, and in the OPC (Canada) packs, it was stamped OPC Premier.

The Updates were inserted in the Chrome packs (both Topps and OPC)

It's not that easy to explain, but someone with a player collection of someone might be able to show everything in one shot

Thanks for the breakdown of there things came from.. makes it a bit easier to digest!

So are you saying that in the US, Topps packs had a parallel with "O-Pee-Chee" stamped on it instead of the Topps logo? If so, I already had those listed, AS WELL AS the "Topps/OPC parallel".. I think I definitely need scans to understand this one (laugh)

You can find the following cards in 01-02 Topps
Topps Basecards (gold foil)
Topps O-Pee-Chee Parallel (looks like a regular OPC basecard but has silver foil)
Topps Heritage parallel (a retro-looking parallel with gold foil)
Topps Heritage parallel limited (looks like the one above but with silver foil and limited to 50)

In 01-02 OPC you can find
OPC Basecards (gold foil)
OPC Premier Parallel (has a Premier logo instead of the regular OPC logo)
OPC Heritage parallel and OPC Heritage parallel limited are like the Topps version but of course with the O-Pee-Chee logo.

As stated above, the 85U were inserted in Topps Chrome packs.

Awesome, thank KG!! So I need the silver foil O-Pee-Chee logo then.. I saw a few on a site for sale, and they seemed cheap, but I didn't want to buy 'em and have them be what I already had..

Thanks for the explanations, everyone.. what a great group o' posters this board has!
