I don't know if this belongs in the League Discussion (since it is not a current event), but I received my 05/06 SPGU Oldtimers Challenge Jersey Autograph /100. The thing that I am wondering is that the back of the jersey says that the jersey was "worn by Ray Bourque in the 2004 Heritage Classic." Did Boston and/or the Avalanche have their own Heritage Classic? I'll I can find is the 2003 Heritage Classic, which of course was played by the Edmonton Oilers and the Montreal Canadiens. Here are scans of the card:

Any help would be appreciated, as I would like to figure out when this event took place.

Looking at UD's checklist, there were two sets: A Heritage Classic and an Oldtimers' Challenge set. All of the Heritage Classic cards state that the cards were from the 2004 Heritage Classic. The Oldtimers' Challenge set include jerseys from various oldtimers game that were held at different arenas. It clears it up a bit, but I am still having issues finding a date for the 2004 Heritage Classic (assuming it was similar to the 2003 version with the Oilers and Canadiens).

I see. Thank you very much.

It was difficult to find, especially when the game did not get the publicity as the first Heritage Classic did. I didn't realize that they do a Legends game at the Hall of Fame, that's a pretty cool concept. Thanks again for the info.

No problem Jeff... I knew I heard about it but I couldn't remember exactly what it was and where. I think thats the first time they ever did it... It wasn't really called the Heritage Classic so they probably shouldn't call it that and thats obviously what threw you off. It was called The Legends Classic Heritage Game...

Anyways, glad to help you out...
