First the setup
My wife knows I've wanted to go to the All-Star Weekend for years. Well since I graduate in May with my doctorate in psychology she bought me an All-Star package. Well in order to get the package we had to buy tix for 4 other games. So we picked the Pens (twice), the Avs and the Lightning (b-day weekend):whatthehell:
So we head down Friday after my Major let me leave the hospital early in order to scout the layout.
Saturday we started off with a big shiny thing:
me and the wife with The Cup
Next a little game of shinny, the 2 girls working this booth had no one within 20 feet of this thing so my wife snapped a pic (I was then informed I couldn't play b/c I was too old to win a pack of Victory:badmood: )
then we saw these 2 kids signing at the UD booth
Erik Johnson
Jack Johnson
both were really nice, but appeared overwhelmed with all the corporate butt-kissers who accompanied them
here's the Swag:
then off to the Skills Game, some lame events but really cool live, especially the Young Stars Event
Sunday we came back and picked up a couple more autos:
Todd McFarlane (really nice guy, talked and posed for pics, limit 2; which was good considering some people brought 20-30 items for sigs:banned: ) He was late for his signing but we were told it was b/c he was doing the facial laser scanning of all but 2 of the All-Stars for future figures!!
first the puck, then the limited edition Hossa flyer and then a pic w/Todd
then we saw Patrick Kane
the auto......
and of course the obligatory UD All-Star Game Limited Edition 6 card set, supposedly it was only 1 set per person per day and less than 3000 made
