Hi there,

I asked this question on Game Worn's forum and they deleted it right away. I guess they didn't like that I posted it there, or didn't like the content. Not sure. They never told me. I do know that there are a few game worn items collectors on this site (not to say Classic doesn't sell cards as well), but I would like to pose the question below to you fellow collectors.

Is anybody getting auction alert email's or the catalogs from Classic Auctions? I have missed the last two auctions because I didn't even know they were live. The reason I ask, is I have a couple of items in the Spring 2016 Auction and never received an email as to the auction even being live. They have my email, because I consigned items to the auction. I chose them because one of the items was originally purchased through them and I thought it would just make it easier.

I have contacted them with that info a couple of times and never got a response to the question. Reason I am upset about this is that I am paying a good percentage of the final sale of my items for the publicity and the reassuring thought that it is a step up from Ebay, and thus giving the items the required provenance and guarantee that the items I am selling are legitimate. Otherwise I could have just threw it on the Bay and got what ever I could for them (or what ever anyone was willing to risk monetarily, if they thought I was putting up fake items).

Just as an FYI, the 2016 Spring Auction is live, and the items I am selling are the Kuba Czech Olympic Jersey Gamer and the Vladislav Tretiak Game Used Stick.

Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I get the catalog, but sometimes it arrives quite late. Just glad that they're sending out since it's a treat to look in.

Sound very strange that they're not replying, one could understand that they're busy, but not sending a message once your auction goes live? Odd.

You have a contact there I suppose? I'd suggest calling them.

Yes, I do have a contact, and told them about the issue in a direct email reply. They never responded about it, nor addressed the issue. Thus the question I am posing. Don't get it really. Just trying to gauge the rest of the collecting worlds experience. Could just be a one off problem I am having. Checked my junk mail and everywhere else. Natta.

i have received two emails, the first showing hi-lites from the auction and second to say the auction was live.

I also have the catalog, impressive.

Thanks for the info. Never got any of what you speak of. Use to get the catalogs, really enjoyed looking at them as well.

Some amazing pieces in there! maurice and Henri Richard gamers, lafleur, Gretzky, Lemieux gamers. Awesome to see those rare items

I never thought I would see a Maurice Richard gamer up for auction. Amazing sweater, I can't wait to see what it sells for.

I would be surprised if the Richard goes for less than six figures.

I'd be surprised if it goes for any less than $250k.

You look at all the Gretzky and Orr gamers that have sold around that number, and there are FAR more gamers of those guys out there than there are Rockets. And it's a gorgeous, red, photomatched wool. If only I could win the Lotto Max before this auction ends...

Brian, you've been around the auction blocks for a long time. How long has it been since a Richard like this has been available? Fifteen years or more?

I bought my Richard for In The Game probably 22-23 years ago and haven't seen one since.

I currently have a beautiful Beliveau wool for sale, so I am very interested in the final price of the Richard.

Wow, 20+ years since one of these was available, and who knows if another will ever appear. This is going to be a fun one to watch.

While I'll never own a Richard gamer at least I own a piece of one, a nice Superlative III jersey card. I'll admit, when I saw this auction I took that card out and gave the old wool a little rub.

...but that Lindros Generals gamer!!!

And a rookie one at that, I love seeing this stuff. Junior jerseys are underrated and undervalued in my opinion. Players spend such a small part of their career in junior and jerseys are in so much more short supply than their NHL memorabilia, I wish more collectors appreciated them.
