2017 Top Ten

Hey Everyone,

2017 has been somewhat of a challenging year for myself as it relates to collecting. I've been all over the map as to what I wanted to be collecting and changed it multiple times. I've always been someone that finds it hard to focus on only one or a few things to collect.

Fast forward to the 2nd half of this year and I've finally found a couple of things that really interest me and will for a long time (I'm sure of it). Being a Habs fan and I really love the way that Gallagher plays has lead me to starting a PC of this guy and the other HUGE love for me is collecting cards of guys from Newfoundland that have played in the NHL.

This second one has pretty much gotten me back to the same feelings I had as a kid going to the candy store and buying packs of cards. I just love the search of looking for and find new additions to this part of my collection.

Sorry for the little rant, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

Awesome Top 10 Paul! Glad to see you have found focus in your collecting. The Beliveau is an amazing card! Congrats on the Gallagher's as well - some beauties you've acquired! Good luck in 2018 with the PC and Happy New Year!

I know Faulkner is a home town hero, but that Beliveau is tops in my opinion. Great show, even if it has a bunch of newfies in it. Being a Caper, I can say that lol.

Nice pickups!

You'd think when they are making a Cup RPA #'d to just 11 they'd use nicer patches on them, but still a nice card. I've always liked the hand #'ing on those.

Some people recognize Faulkner but to Newfoundlanders he is the grail of any Rock PC and that grade to boot..... Seeing that I might grade mine . Thanks Paul for the show

Some sharp looking cards Paul. I love all the Gallagher's and Ryder's. Really nice colours on the cards/patches, etc. - very nice reds, whites and blues. I can understand how sometimes it can be hard to focus on a PC. I had my moments this year trying to figure out where I really wanted the PC to go. Sometimes it's the discovery and the trial and error that makes it fun, and when you finally get there it makes the PC that much more rewarding. I'd give my "eye-appeal" award to your Brendan Gallagher The Cup Emblems of Endorsements. Very nice looking card, all-round. But I think my favorite has to be the Alex Faulkner PSA 7. Love that photo and the American flag background. Such an iconic looking card and really tops your Newfie collection. Thanks for showing all those wonderful cards and best of luck with your PC in 2018. Happy New Year to you and your family.

Great cards Paul, not a big habs fan but the Beliveau is awesome. Of course I am living the NL player cards as I also collect players from the rock. The Faulkner is a beauty, mine is probably a 5.

Yeah I appreciate your opinion on these 2. I too love the Beliveau but that Faulkner just means so much to us Newfie collectors. And yes you got a pass at saying that. :beer:

I completely understand what you are saying regarding the patch. I was gonna wait to see if I could get a multi color patch but decided I better not pass at this one as I'm sure they are not easy to come by being that they are #'ed /11.

Thanks for your kind words. I feel it has been a pretty good year for my PC. And yes Faulkner is the Holy Grail to any Newfie collection for sure.

Thanks. Yeah I guess even the non Habs fans gotta love the Beliveau. LOL. Its always nice to see that others from the rock collect NL born players. It's what I find myself caught up in these days.
