2018 Stanley Cup Final: Capitals vs Golden Knights

Rest equals rust, this is a longgggg break for Vegas. However I have doubted the Vegas team all year, it’s time for me to give them the respect they deserve. I say Vegas in 6!

I'm hoping OV gets the cup, but I'm thinking Vegas actually actually has the advantage. The physical dominance Washington had over Tampa Bay the last two games isn't going to happen against Vegas, and I think the Vegas speed is going to expose some of the slower D in Washington. That said, it's the NHL. Any given team can win any given night.

I'm stating Vegas in 6, with Fleury as Conn Smythe winner.

I am pretty pumped about this final. For me I can't lose as I either get to see Ovi finally gets his cup or I get to see an expansion team win the cup in their first year.

With all that said I think I want Ovi to win it, the guy has been a class act since he entered the league. WAS in 6.

I'm sticking by my original prediction: Penguins in 6. The fact that they're not a part of this series only makes them more dangerous.

I've also been joking that this is George McPhee's apotheosis:

First, his Golden Knights conquered the land by defeating the Kings.
Then, his Golden Knights took the waters by beating the Sharks.
Now, his Golden Knights have taken the air by defeating the Jets.
His final enemy: His very own creation - the Washington Capitals.

This is Golden, no pun intended. I had a good laugh over this.

I am not offering an opinion (as if I needed to anyways). Just can't believe we made it! 20 long years in the making!

Hear hear. They way the Caps have come back in the playoffs has been a great treat to watch. I do think the fact that they weren't anywhere near being the favorites after so many years gave them a break.

I have felt in the last years that they have lacked the depth, but everyone has delivered in some positive way this year, to my surprise in all honesty.

Exciting that there will a new franchise with a Stanley Cup banner!
