Blue Jackets get Matt Duchene and Julius Bergman for Prospects Vitali Abramov, Jonathan Davidsson, 1st round pick in 2019 and another 1st rounder in 2020 if Duchene signs in Columbus.

Really surprised at the Duchene trade. Not surprised he was traded, but surprised that he went to CBJ. They have a lot riding on him, and a lot to give up for a guy who isn’t gonna stay most likely.

Rangers trade forward Mats Zuccarello to Stars

The Dallas Stars have acquired forward Mats Zuccarello from the New York Rangers to bolster their push for a playoff spot.

The Rangers are receiving a conditional second-round draft pick this year and a conditional third-round pick in the 2020 draft in the deal announced Saturday night.

Senators trade forward Ryan Dzingel to Blue Jackets

The Ottawa Senators continued to sell off their team and stock up for the future on Saturday by trading left-winger Ryan Dzingel to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forward Anthony Duclair and two second-round picks.

It’s the second deal in as many days between the two teams after Ottawa sent forward Matt Duchene to Columbus on Friday.

Ottawa added second-rounds picks in 2020 and 2021 to its collection for Dzingel. The Sens acquired two prospects, a first-round draft pick and a conditional first rounder for Duchene and could have up to 16 draft selections over the next three years.

Hopefully Ghule gets a chance in Anaheim. Loved watching him in PG for the cougars. One of the best defensive skaters I’ve seen Here. Not saying much though. Haha.

I'm bummed to see him go he's a good prospect, but, Sabres have too many prospects and not enough established talent so it's a decent deal for both sides.

Sens Acquire Brian Gibbons for Patrick Sieloff

A depth forward for a less-than-depth defenceman.

As the clock struck midnight and trade deadline day began, general manager Pierre Dorion didn’t wait until the morning to make his first, albeit minor, trade of the day. The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Brian Gibbons from the Anaheim Ducks, in exchange for defenceman Patrick Sieloff.

Red Wings trade Nyquist to Sharks for 2 draft picks

The Detroit Red Wings traded forward Gustav Nyquist to the San Jose Sharks for a second-round pick in 2019 and a conditional third-round pick in 2020, the team announced early Monday morning.

If the Sharks advance to the Stanley Cup Final this year or Nyquist re-signs in San Jose, the conditional third-round pick in 2020 would become a second-round pick in the same draft.

Stars acquire Ben Lovejoy from Devils for Connor Carrick

The Devils have traded veteran defenseman Ben Lovejoy to the Stars for defenseman Connor Carrick and a third-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft, the teams announced Saturday.

Kings trade forward prospect Spencer Watson to Blackhawks, acquire Matheson Iacopelli

Rob Blake makes a minor league deal for the Kings ahead of the trade deadline.

Rob Blake may or may not make a big move before the close of the trade deadline on Monday, but he made a minor league move on Sunday evening, sending forward prospect Spenser Watson to the Chicago Blackhawks in exchange for winger Matheson Iacopelli.

Iacopelli, a 24 year old winger, was drafted in 2014 by the Blackhawks. He turned pro in 2017 after a standout sophomore season at Western Michigan University, where he collected 36 points in 40 games. He has split time his past two seasons between the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs and the ECHL’s Indy Fuel. This year, Iacopelli has appeared in 27 AHL games, registering four points (two goals and two assists). He also has four goals in nine ECHL games. He is on the final year of his Entry Level Contract and will be a Restricted Free Agent at the close of the season.

Devils trade Kinkaid to Blue Jackets for 5th-rounder

The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired goaltender Keith Kinkaid from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2022 fifth-round pick, the Blue Jackets confirmed Monday.

Kinkaid went 15-18-6 with a .891 save percentage in 41 games for the Devils this season. He's a pending unrestricted free agent carrying a $1.25-million cap hit, according to CapFriendly.

The 29-year-old had spent his entire career with the Devils, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2011.

The Blue Jackets already have goaltenders Sergei Bobrovsky and Joonas Korpisalo in the fold, but the former is also a pending UFA.

Great move by Chevy and co. to land Hayes. Think he is going to look wicked distributing to the wing talent here in Winnipeg.

More importantly now... let's hope Stone stays in the East.

Coyotes trade Weal to Canadiens for Chaput

The Arizona Coyotes traded forward Jordan Weal to the Montreal Canadiens for forward Michael Chaput on Monday.

Weal managed only two points in 19 games with the Coyotes after being acquired from the Philadelphia Flyers in January.

Chaput contributed five points in 32 contests with Montreal this season. He most recently played for the Laval Rocket of the AHL, with whom he notched 10 goals and 16 points in 24 games.

Rangers trade defenceman Adam McQuaid to Blue Jackets

One of the top blue-liners available on the rental market is off the board.

Adam McQuaid has been traded by the New York Rangers to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

According to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman, the Rangers are sending two draft picks to Columbus in return.

The six-foot-four, 210-pound McQuaid brings with him 498 games of NHL experience plus an additional 68 playoff contests, including two trips to the Stanley Cup Final as a member of the Boston Bruins.
