I have been a long time supporter of Upper Deck and was even one of their Diamond Club members for five years so I have seen a lot of Upper Deck products. Been please with most, not pleased with sum but this is a total joke!

Stopped by our local yesterday and picked up a box of 2023/24 OPC Platinum to do the crazy hunt for Bedard. Cost of the "wonderful box" was $324.75 USD with tax.

I certainly understand the risk of ripping wax but seriously Upper Deck do you have to make the autograph hit "The ONLY AUTOGRAPH HIT" of the box be a 2022/23 of the one and only Filip Roos????????

What a joke!

2022/23 Game Played 17 Goals 1 Assist 2 Total Points 3
2023/24 Game Played 4 Goals 0 Assist 0 Total Points 0

What a hit! Just the risk of busting wax, color and shiny cards weren't much either!

Heck at least it was Blackhawk!!!!! Jump and Down with joy!!!!!!

I saw someone pulling a no-name 22-23 auto rookie out of its box. I am staying away from the hobby boxes, I might do a blaster for fun, but I am not sure yet, the checklist is very diluted with 100 rookies. Value wise, Allure blasters might be a better deal than Platinum blasters with the shorter checklist.

You’ve been in this game long enough to know Upper Deck couldn’t care less about odds or value when it comes to wax. They know it will sell whether they put a Gretzky in every box, or a, well, Filip Ros from the previous years set. What’s even more laughable is people ripping The Cup and their ARP is Robin Salo from 3 years ago who isn’t even in North America anymore.

Sorry to hear Ron, it is so frustrating lately with the cost of new products. My head says stay away but my inner degenerate says try it. (Thankfully my head is winning so far.)

A tin of the cup is less than the cost of 3 boxes of OPC Platinum.

Yeah, any updates in products should be considered bonus hits and not count towards any of the stated odds. It's almost fraudulent to advertise a product of one year and then replace the hits with a prior year's product to water it down more.

Oh please, stop with the common sense would ya….

Pretty sure Billy has said several times on my show and the Center Ice Card Cast and the Hockey Cards Gongshow that they aren't hits, but rather bonuses.

Jeremy, he may have said it but it doesn’t make it true! That was the hit of the box, but UD can always get around it by using the Random odds clause.

Like I said, I have been in this game long enough to know what can he happen! Still it is what it is and I have an awesome Roos auto that I am sure his momma would love to have!

Yeah crappy luck on that box for sure Ron. And my apologies I got my lines crossed, I was thinking updates in Cup, not OPC Platinum, so I’m not sure what their position is with Platinum when it comes to updates. A great question for Tony (Platinum’s project manager) next time one of us podcast hosts has him on.

Plenty of new Cup rips online where the ARP is Robin Salo, and there are only 6 cards in the pack. So no way those are bonus hits and the buyers got screwed out of a ARP from the set/product they bought.

Perhaps I’ve misunderstood what they’ve been saying. I’ll see myself out.

What you've been told and what was executed are two different things. I don't think this is a Jeremy thing. I've been watching Cup breaks with a look on my face reserved for smelling something terrible.

I continue to be amazed that people that rip wax are surprised at the outcome… people have been complaining about the same things for years, and sure, it’s exacerbated by the Bedard effect this year, but how are people still surprised and still complaining about the same thing? Vote with your wallet and buy singles on the secondary market…

I don't see the problem. This is a parallel-oriented product, the autograph is just another card that falls 1 per box. Did you get an autograph? Yes.

That's all Upper Deck will say.

I am raging over 22-23 Parkhurst right now. Like how many boxes of this product are there if there are 350 cards, with rare /51, /51, /21, /11, /5, /1 and many other types of the same rarity. I buy 7 boxes nothing but commons. I guess all of the above are case hits so just how many of these boxes are there? Complete junk. It's disgusting. Way over-produced.

The blasters of Parkhurst Champions 22-23 are dirt cheap. I got one for 20cad while ordering other stuff from Zephyr Epic. They offer the option of buying whole cases of blasters.
My blaster is in my stash of cheap boxes to open during rainy days.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see hobby boxes in sale for the Black Friday. I might get one if they get under 100Cad. I like hard-signed autos and retro stuff.
