The first box I received I made a deal with my LCS a few months before SPA came out. My schedule has been so crazy I wasn't able to pick it up until a week or two after release. I ended up opening the box at home and I pulled the McDavid auto. The second came about a week later. I took a final test in one of my classes, did well on it and decided to go celebrate by getting a box of cards. I head to the LCS and end up chatting with the owner and the employee working. A mom and her son walk in and they are greeted by the owner and employee. They are looking for hockey cards. As they are being helped I walk over to the shelf with SPA and just stare at it. After a little bit I grab the box in front and head up to the counter. The mother and son are looking around at this point so I tell the employee to grab a pack loose pack of SPA and give it to the kid I will pay for the pack. Just don't say it's from me. The mother and son buy what they have and the kid is handed the pack of cards and they were told it was from me. They thanked me and people in there for a wonderful experience since it was there first time in the LCS. They leave and I decide to open my box at the LCS and opened with the employee. I get the box open and he helps another customer and I open the right side and he opens the left. I didn't hit anything on my side and he pulled a retro future watch auto of an Islanders player. He told me to open the last pack. As I open the pack and slowly look through the cards I see the name Wayne Gretzky. I slowly move the card up a little and see blue ink. The owner is near me at this point and I get his attention. I tell him you won't believe this. I start to move the top card off what I think is just a Gretzky auto and that is when we see it this a dual auto of Wayne Gretzky and Bobby Orr. We all started to freak out. I was shaking I was so excited the owner put the card in a sleeve and top loader. None of us could believe it. There were a couple other people in the store and there are high fives and good vibes. I don't get to open many boxes anymore, but this will go down as one of my favorite times opening a box of cards. It's better to break with friends.
