I've been looking for a 55-56 Parkie set for a while now and never seem to see any.

Is there any specific reason why it's so hard to find?

Thanks!

A huge amount of set collectors for that one, and for good reason.

Iconic (if somewhat minimalistic) design, A checklist that is essentially the full lineups of the Leafs and Habs for the prior season, HOF'ers, Action shots and a pair of Arena cards to boot. I'm about 19 big cards away from completing the set - the Plante and Lumley rarely show up in presentable condition and when they do (Ex-MT or better) often sell for over book. Been working on my set for about 10 years now - even if I didn't have other expenses I doubt i'd be done today.

makes sense.

I was hoping to find a non graded set in good condition (similar to the 53-54 set i found: http://www.hobbyinsider.net/forum/showthread.php?t=390484 ).. sounds like that may be impossible..

They are not that rare I have about 50 doubles I would be willing to trade. I also have many of the Greenback Parkies (Quaker oats) that I am willing to trade. I prefer not to sell. I am always looking for interesting trades on true vintage items

Sorry to butt in, is there a reason why capsports is no longer on eBay????

I believe he's too busy traveling. Supposedly purchases from the site have been subject to delays and obviously that is not acceptable on eBay.

I will be buying some stuff aoon for my sets, so hopefully everything goes smoothly...
