Hey there,

Since the new OPC set contains proof/blank back cards
it got me thinking of the older cards I got.

How rare are proof/blank back cards really?
I was told they make about 50 - 75 proof/bb of each card.

I have some Salmings,

And alot of this card, about 30 proof cards of the same card.
From 1986/87, I think.

Any idea on the value of these cards? Im not planning on moving them,
just checking as I got them years ago and never really had alot of info on them.

Thanks,

Viktor

There seem to be a lot of 86-87 blank backs, but I think a few dealers got their hands on blank-backed sheets and cut them up that year. Some collectors call them proofs, but I'm a bit more skeptical about them.

As for actual proofs like colour progressions, etc., those are pretty rare. There was a dealer in the early 90s that had a ton and encapsulated them and likely made a mint. The Salming All-Star is one that went through his hands. The guy seemed a bit shady and apparently made a lot of enemies with his ASA company, but I don't know the full story. Can anyone else shed some light on this?

These ones are from the Topps Vault collection and come with a COA.

I love how they look together the seller had tons of these but the other ones that should go with these (different colours) were damaged in storae so the seller got rid of them
