A change of pace... a new PC! Rogie Vachon!

I've been thinking about chasing another player for awhile, and though I'm a hardcore Canucks fan, the problem is... there are a LOT of hardcore Canucks fans. So players like Linden or McLean or Bure have a group of collectors who chase their stuff. Time to throw a curveball.

Last Saturday I met King/Habs legend, Rogie Vachon, at the Big One in Vancouver. I was also able to interview him, thanks to Dale, for the upcoming magazine, and afterwards I thought "he'd be a great guy to chase!" So... without further adieu... against my better judgement... I am now collecting Kings Legend Rogie Vachon!

If you have ANY cards of him, please let me know. I obviously have the base OPC cards from 1971 through to 1982, but other cards I don't. Help me out!

Vachon is a good choice Bruce. First card I'd snag is a nice 3 clr emblem/auto card of his from the Bleu Blanc et Rouge set. Loved those cards.....:)

Great choice on Vachon. Another underated big time netminder.If he was in another market in his prime besides L.A,He might have had a cup.

Canada Cup 1976 ... On perhaps the greatest team Canada ever assembled, Vachon stood out as a star! (18 HHOF players)

He had 3 in 4 years with Montreal, Deano... and could have had a 4th, but lost in the finals to the last Leafs team to win the cup.
 
Interesting choice. Hope you have some fun putting that together. Surprisingly low amount of stuff when I looked him up.

Could definitely use that one Winston! Are you coming to the Expo? Perhaps you can bring along and we can haggle in person? :)

Kelly, I count 326 cards... about double King Richard! But I think more readily available... although the multi-player cards with Gretzky will be difficult to land. Ah well... it'll still be a BLAST tracking them down!

Brett, Rogie said that the purple mask with the two crowns is the ONLY piece of playing equipment he still has in his collection. Back then the trainers took everything apparently! He does have his 1976 Canada Cup jersey still though :) VERY interesting guy.
