Well, here's a bit of a different mailweek than what most of us are used to here (at least me). First, a little background. A few weeks ago my dad decided he wanted to take me on a trip. My parents divorced when I was very young (and I'm 38 now), and we have never travelled together...ever. He wanted to do Vegas, but I just don't see the point of dumping that much cash in a Casino (which I know we would do...lol), and come back with not much to show for it. After a few discussions, I mapped out a different trip that is sure to ensure a LOT more memories for the both of us. So...here it goes....

We start by flying to Vancouver just in time to catch the Canucks vs the Montreal Candiens. Center ice tickets in the Upper bowl...anyone who has ever been to GM Places knows these are great seats:

The next day we catch a plane to London Ontario, were we will rent a car and drive to Windsor for a few days stay. On the Saturday, we will head on over to Detroit to catch the Detroit Red Wings vs Wahington Capitals. Lucky for me, my man Bertuzzi just signed again with the Red Wings, so things couldn't have worked out better. Once again, center ice tickets in the upper bowl. SWEET!!

The following day, stay in Detroit to watch the Detroit Lions play the Pittsburgh Steelers!! Sure, it's a one sided game, but hey...it's the Super Champs!! Tickets for this appear to be around the 45 yard line in the Upper Bowl.

After the football game in Detroit, it's off to hang out in Niagra Falls for a day, then, down to Buffalo to catch the Detroit Red Wings vs Buffalo Sabres. Another chance for me to watch my favorite player in action again!!! These tickets are dead centre ice, in the lower bowl, 11 rows behind the players benches. GREAT looking seat!!

Once the Buffalo game is over, we then take a drive up Toronto to go visit the Hockey Hall of Fame (no ticket pictures...sorry...lol). Of our entire trip, this is probably what I am looking forward to the most. It will be amazing to just to be around all the items the Hall has to share. Every important event in the history of the game will be there to look at. Hopefully I can see it all in a day...but I might just have to take a 2 days to get it all in :)

After we are done at the Hall...it's off to the Sudbury area to visit some family for a few days, then fly back to BC to get back on with real life. I won't bore you with those details...lol.

All in all, I think this is going to be one of the most amzing trips of my life. I've always wanted to do something like this, and to be able to do it with my dad is going to make it even more special. Three NHL games and 1 NFL game in a 7 day span...it don't get better than that  Sitting around in Hawaii or Mexico just has never appealed to me at all....and I've tried. I'm also hoping the Detroit Tigers make it to the post-season (they're slipping fast...nooo), as we have already agreed to go to one of those games too if they are playing around that same time. I'll do my best to post pics of the highlights of my trip when I get back.

Sorry about the long read :)

Brian,

That sounds like an awesome trip. Something I would like to do one day. Enjoy the time with your dad and it is sweet you get to see your man Bertuzzi play twice, as well as an All Canadian match up in Vancouver, Ovechkin and Company in Detroit and the Super Bowl Champs vs the #1 NFL Pick from this year. Have a blast and post pics when you are done for sure.
