Erik Karlsson game worn gloves!

... but wait, aren't those Daniel Alfredsson's gloves? nope. These gloves have "ALFREDSSON 11" stitched into the cuff but they were given to Erik Karlsson. The number 65 is written on the palm of each glove. Below is a very clear photomatch of the scuff marks on the left glove.

It is hard to make out but in the photo below you can see the "ALFREDSSON 11" stiching on the cuff.

Erik Karlsson started to wear these gloves on December 31st, 2010 vs. the New York Islanders and the last game he wore them was March 13, 2010 vs. Vancouver. The following game he was wearing an identical pair of gloves with "KARLSSON" stitched into them but in a different location on the cuff which made it easier for me when finding photomatches.

Happens a fair bit - I've found Alfredsson sticks that were blacked out at the Leafs Store with Mats Sundin's number and tape job on them.

Maybe it's a Swede thing as I know several of the Wings switch off things all the time. Most of them sticks! Nice find on the gloves though they are pretty sweet!

How long did it take for you to find those pictures to photomatch?
Did you buy these knowing they were Karlssson's, or on a hunch after seeing 65 written on the palms.

I did buy these gloves knowing that they were Erik Karlsson's gloves. I remember Erik wearing these Alfredsson tagged gloves during part of his rookie year when I was watching the games on tv.

The bond that Alfredsson and Karlsson share is really strong, Alfredsson was the one that called Karlsson's name during the 2008 draft in Ottawa and Alfredsson took Karlsson into his home when he made the move to Canada, he has been a great mentor for Erik.

The photomatch was a little difficult because a lot of the photos I found were low-resolution or I couldn't find any visible markings that I could match up and be certain they were the same gloves. The photo I found was on NHL photostore and was taken shortly before he started to wear new gloves.

They are defiantly one of my favourite items that I own.
