Went to McD's again today and tried my luck once again on some cards. I bought 20 packs, but one was definitley larger than the others. I was a curious as to what was in it, so I cracked that one right away and it yielded me this beauty:

Alexander Ovechkin jersey redemption....I was shocked to say the least. This was probably the best break I have ever had (to be fair...I rarely open any wax...there is NONE in my town at all).

It will definitley be up for sale, but I haven't decided whether to redeem it first, or just sell the redemption? What do you think?

1)with Mcdonald's cards out right now, ppl are looking for redemptions cards and master set builders maybe competing with each other meaning higher bids? ALso, not much products are out right now. Maybe by the time you get the card, collectors will be focussed on other stuff. Master set collectors might hav the card already.
2)having the actual card maybe better, buyer knows for sure that he/she doesn't need to redeem it and wait for the card.
3)Economy is bad right, by the time you get the card, will it be any better/worse? This could also effect what you get in the future. If it's better, ppl maybe willing to spend money. If it's bad, ppl might save there money.

Sell first I would guess. These are hot commodities so probably best to cash in now. Sweet pull too. Should garner you some nice cash.
 
The economy is not going to get sginificantly better or worse in the next few weeks. so redeeming it wouldn't hurt. It's a big gamble though. If you get an all white jersey, people might just try to buy another person's redemption card. But if you get a multicolored piece (or just not white) that could help your cause. I would personally redeem it, but if you need the money, now might be the best time.

Card won't be unsellable at any time - too many collectors will be looking for it - between the master set guys and the US based Ovechkin collectors - it'ss still gonna be in demand. It's nothing like any of the other jerseys/100 that you can find in hobby based products - the distribution is far more focused and all 100 you know can still be found after the fact - by the time New Year's comes around- how many more packs are you gonna still find readily available?
 
I would redeem it. You might even get a two color jersey piece. Like Quincy mentioned, you're looking at a turnaround time of two weeks tops. That and once you recieve it, you can show it off a little first.
