I don't use the term "conerstone" lightly. I have a lot of great pieces in my collection, but once in a while Dr. Price or Leaf will create amazing pieces that are just too nice to pass. I must have cut 90% of my collecting spendings since the birth of my son (even before), so every new piece I purchase becomes an event.
I only purchased 2 cards in the last month (and 3 total in 2018 so far!), and I received what I think is now in the top 5 of my collection. Here we go!
Dr. Price really hit it out of the park with that subset from Bleu, Blanc et Rouge. It doesn't really show in the scans, but the picture is actually deeper in the card, with a plastic glass over it, like a shadowbox. Fantastic design!
But no, that's not my new cornerstone. This is :
Truth be told, I don't really care about the first generation of the Ottawa Senators (I don't really care about the current iteration either), but that Clancy piece is just phenomenal. I love everything about that card : the player selection, the design, the quality memorabilia, the gold shine. Simply a stunning piece.
