A Shout Out to GOMAZ

My wife and I just made a quick trip out to Calgary to participate in our son's graduation from Law School. While there I took the opportunity to reach out to Jeremy with hopes we could meet up for a coffee if nothing else.

As luck would have it, I was hungry and he owned a pub so the logical choice was to meet up at his establishment. Both of us had a full agenda so we knew up front that our meeting would only be for an hour or so. Here is where the story gets interesting - I invited my son along who informed me that one of his best friends from Law School lived around the corner so we reached out and invited him along as well.

When Jeremy showed up, I noted that my son's friend was very inquisitive to about the pub and its success. Jeremy was very obliging with his responses and at would point mentioned that he had just met with the owner of the building (the landlord so to speak). With that, my friend asked what Jeremy thought of the owner as it was his grand father! Too cool and such a small world!

It was absolutely wonderful meeting with Jeremy and discussing the hobby with my son and his friend. However, the reason for the post was to say thank you to my good friend, and the owner of HI, for buying a round for us as we celebrated this special week. THANKS GOMAZ!

Was so good to see you on my turf Cyril! I'm still shaking my head at what a small world it is! I'm at a meeting with my landlord one minute and the next I'm having lunch with his grandson and you and your son! So funny. Thanks for taking the time during your trip to see me and congrats again on the law school graduation!

This is what I love about HIers...I have travelled out to Los Angeles and was treating like a king by Mike Low (Turtlelo) and I have had a few people come visit Toronto and reach out to me and I've given them the grand tour. It's awesome being able to go somewhere you're maybe not so familiar with and have someone with reach of your keyboard that you can give a shout to and hook up with.

Jeremy is good people and I hope I get a chance to spend even an hour with him at his pub.
