Finally got around to taking some pics of this week's pickups and mail. The first one is an interesting piece. I won my LCS's NFL Player of the Day contest and in addition to being entered into the drawing to spend a day with an NFL player, I won this prize:

2008 Leaf Limited Tashard Choice Sample RC Auto w/NFLPA COA
ChoiceCOA.jpg

ChoiceFront.jpg

ChoiceBack.jpg

It's interesting because the card is hard-signed and all the Limited RCs from last year were stickers, so it's pretty unique. It is also FT/FS if there are any Cowboys fans out there.

The next couple of cards are additions to my growing Josh Freeman PC. I've got another nice one coming so I'll update this thread when it gets here:

2009 Limited Josh Freeman Draft Day Limited Patch #/100 NFT
FreemanDraftDay.jpg

2009 UD Black Josh Freeman Lustrous Rookie Signatures RC #/199 NFT
FreemanBlack.jpg

Finally this week, I picked up a nice hard-signed auto of one of the best QBs of this or any era. I got it at an unbelievable price, too! :giggity:

2009 Philadelphia Peyton Manning Philadelphia Signatures auto SP NFT
ManningPhilly.jpg

And there you have it. I've got several more cards coming over the next week or so, including the aforementioned Freeman and a sweet hard-signed auto of another Colts QB. Comments are welcome and as always, thanks for the read!

Okay, back again with this week's mail. It was a busy one, so I'll get right to it. :D

First card is my only non-football pickup of the week. I know it doesn't belong here, but I'm excited about it so you all get to see it.

1958 Topps Mickey Mantle All Star PSA 3
Mantle.jpg

This is hands down the best looking PSA 3 I've ever seen. If it wasn't for a small crease in one of the corners, this one would easily be a 5 or 6.

Now back to the football show. :D

Those of you who read the first post in this thread saw that I promised another Colts QB auto. Well, I don't plan on disappointing. Here's the first ever certified auto from a Colts 1st Round draft pick and possessor of one of the strongest throwing arms in NFL history:

1993 Pro Line Jeff George auto (NFT)
George.jpg

Now that the laughs are out of the way, on to the real stuff.

Only two non-Josh Freeman cards to show this week. This one is my only non-Bucs card, and the only one I pulled. I busted the last 5 packs of Mayo my LCS had the other day and hit this:

2009 Topps Mayo Derrick Williams Auto
WilliamsMayo.jpg

The lesson, as always, is to NEVER leave the last 5 packs in a box. :D

Next up is my first Bucs card. This guy has underperformed for the last few years, but I'm still a fan and I've got another dual auto from him coming next week:

2004 Upper Deck Reflections Michael Clayton/Devery Henderson Dual Endorsements auto
ClaytonHenderson.jpg

Finally this week, we have the update to my ever-expanding Josh Freeman PC. I've been picking his stuff up left and right for fantastic prices and I'm in the market for anything anybody else has available. :D

First is a basic RC:

2009 Upper Deck Philadelphia Josh Freeman RC

Next is a basic auto:

2009 Donruss Elite Josh Freeman Turn of the Century auto #/200
FreemanTOTS.jpg

Next is a true RC:

2009 Panini Rookies & Stars Josh Freeman RC auto #/139
FreemanRS.jpg

Next is a very cool card from Gridiron Gear. I LOVE the throwback helmet piece on this card!

2009 Donruss Gridiron Gear Josh Freeman NFL Teams auto #/50
FreemanNFLTeams.jpg

Finally, we come to the Donruss Limited portion of the mailday. First up is the cards that would have been my favorite of the week if the other one hadn't arrived today.

2009 Donruss Limited Josh Freeman Jumbo Patches 5/10
FreemanLimitedPatch.jpg

The patch is the bottom of the 'M' from his nameplate, the card is his jersey number and 'M' is the 5th letter in "Freeman," so this is a TRIPLE eBay 1/1!!! :D

And this week's last card is my favorite this week and top 3 in my Freeman PC. My only gripe is that they're not serial numbered this year, but oh well...

2009 Donruss Limited Josh Freeman Limited Slideshow film slide/auto
FreemanSlideshow.jpg

And to show off the photo in the slide:
FreemanSlidePhoto.jpg

That'll wrap it up for this week. Next week, I'll have two more dual autos to show, along with more film and who knows what else. Thanks again for the read and as always, comments are welcome!!!

Picked up a card today that requires a special mid-week update! I was at the LCS and a guy came in looking to sell a couple of Colts items. One was an authenticated Peyton Manning autographed helmet (which I did not get) and this was the other:

2000 Topps Combos Unitas/Manning Colt Heroes w/Unitas IP auto
Unitas.jpg

The photo does not do the card justice, and although the auto is faded, it's definitely there. The absolute best part of this card was the price...FREE!! The LCS wouldn't buy it because it wasn't authenticated and the auto is faded, but the guy said his ex-wife gave it to him and he didn't want it anymore, so he just left it there. I snagged it before it hit the counter!! :D

I'm getting more mail this week, hopefully, so I'll have a regular update on Saturday night. Thanks for the read, thanks for the comments thus far and as always, more comments are welcome!

Those are some really nice pickups. The Manning is obviously a beauty. But I've never seen a sample before. That Choice is just really cool.

The Freeman Limited auto with the piece of film is great. I love the Gridiron Gear with the old Bucs helmet.

Before I get to this week's mailday/pickups update, I've a bit of business to take care of.

I've got a PWE seller to call out...eBay seller name jelcat sent me this card in a PWE with no protection other than the toploader it came in:

2009 Donruss Limited Mike Thomas Limited Slideshow auto #/50
ThomasSlideshow.jpg

Two caveats. First, the card was jammed into the toploader so tight, I had to carefully cut it open to remove the card. Second, the seller provided free shipping, so I guess I could chalk it up to getting what you pay for...if the card hadn't been trashed in the mail. I plan to go through eBay/PayPal to resolve this issue and get some money back...

Now onto a brigher subject: this week's mail and pickups. :D

First up is the first dual auto of the week. It's a nice little bookend to last week's Clayton/Henderson dual auto and fits nicely in my Bucs PC:

2004 Playoff Contenders Michael Clayton/Michael Jenkins Round Numbers dual auto #/100
ClaytonContendersDual.jpg

The seller sent a freebie to serve as support for the dual inside the bubble mailer instead of the usual dummy cards:

2007 Absolute Paul Williams RPM auto #/100
WilliamsRPM.jpg

Don't know why he did it that way, but he's definitely getting positive feedback from me!! It's refreshing to see a seller go above and beyond and I'll revisit his store many times!

Next up is this week's Josh Freeman PC update. First card is a base RC that I pulled:

2009 Topps Finest Josh Freeman RC
FreemanFinestRC.jpg

Next is my second copy of this card. I'm hoping to be able to move it for another nice Freeman piece:

2009 Donruss Limited Josh Freeman Limited Slideshow auto #/50
FreemanSlideshow3.jpg

It's very interesting to see that the photo slide in this card is different from my other copy, so these are essentially 1/1s. Check out the photo in this one:

FreemanSlideshow4.jpg

The last Freeman card this week is a very cool one I was lucky enough to pull from my single box of Bowman Chrome. It's my second favorite addition in this post and I'll let the photo speak for itself:

2009 Bowman Chrome Josh Freeman blue refractor auto 18/35
FreemanChrome.jpg

Finally this week, a very sweet PC auto of a HOF player. Without further ado, my favorite pickup this week:

2004 SPA Barry Sanders/Kevin Jones Sign of the Times Dual 21/50
SandersSOTT.jpg

Hard signed auto of the best running back in NFL history (sorry Emmit, Jim Brown and Walter Payton fans) numbered to 50 that I got for an absolute steal of a price. VERY happy with this one!!

And that's it for this week. The next few weeks will be light on the mail (the only thing I know is coming is a basketball dual auto), so I'll update as I can. Thanks for the read and as always, comments are welcome!!

Small update this week, just two football cards. Got a basketball dual I can post here if anybody's interested, but it's going on the basketball show and tell board too, so feel free to look there. First card is an update to the Josh Freeman PC:

2009 Panini Prestige Josh Freeman Draft Picks auto #/199
FreemanPrestige.jpg

Still looking for Freeman cards, PM or post here if you've got any!

Last card this week is one I pulled out of Mayo. The BV probably wont be high, but it's a sweet card nonetheless:

2009 Topps Mayo 1898 Stamp "Farming in the West"
MayoStamp.jpg

That's it for this week, and probably for the near future. Funds are running low for cards, so unless I make some trades, there won't be much to show! Thanks to everybody's who's commented to this point and any new comments are welcome!!

Slow week this week, only one card to show off. But it's a pretty good one! I treated myself to a box of UD Black (probably unwise, but it's always a rush to open!) and only kept one of the 4 cards, the others will be finding their way to the 'Bay eventually. So this was the break:

Ronnie Brown Flag
Greg Jennings Flag
Jerry Kramer Flag auto #/75

And this:

2009 UD Black Mark Sanchez Lustrous Rookie Signatures #/399
SanchezBlack.jpg

By far the best box of the three I've cracked, but nowhere close to getting my money back on any of them. If I didn't get a screaming deal on the box (and some unexpected Xmas money), it would still be sitting on the shelf at the LCS...

Anyway, that's it for now. Next week should be short too, unless something else unexpected comes in. Thanks again for reading and as always, comments are welcome!

To celebrate the Bucs' first winning streak in well over a year, I've decided to post a small update featuring my best cards of the MVP of today's Bucs-Saints game, Carnell "Cadillac" Williams!

I've only got two worth showing but they're certainly nice...first up is my best Cadillac RC:

2005 Ultimate Collection Cadillac Williams Auto RC 31/99
CadillacUltimateRC.jpg

Finally is a very cool card out of this year's Rookies and Stars. I wasn't huge on the design this year, but it was definitely unique and I was there when a friend of mine pulled this card. I immediately negotiated a deal for it and I now present it to you:

2009 Rookies & Stars Cadillac Williams Signatures auto 1/1
CadillacRSFront.jpg

CadillacRSBack.jpg

Here's hoping we can close out the season on a 3 game winning streak against Atlanta next weekend! Thanks again for the read and all comments are still welcome! :D

Great hit on the Sanchez. Shame UD didn't Pics of them in their Pro Unis....resale would be waaaay better!

Great hit on the Sanchez. Shame UD didn't Pics of them in their Pro Unis....resale would be waaaay better!

Yeah, it sucks about the college unis, but the product was supposed to be released at the very beginning of the season and was delayed months. It explains them, but hopefully UD learns from this next season. Thanks for the kind words!

Welcome back to my mailday thread and happy new year!! Hope everybody had a great holiday season and is ready for some playoff football!! I've been surprisingly busy over the past week or so and I've got some cool stuff to show, so let's get started! :D

First, I busted a box of 2009 Bowman Chrome at the LCS. I didn't do too well (the auto was Aaron Curry, already traded), but I did pull three cards of note:

2009 Bowman Chrome Michael Crabtree RC
CrabtreeChromeRC.jpg

2009 Bowman Chrome Josh Freeman RC
FreemanChromeRC.jpg

2009 Bowman Chrome Matt Stafford Bronze Refractor #/225
StaffordChrome.jpg

So with this box I was able to add the Chrome RC to my Freeman PC (more to come later) and I kicked off a small run on Crabtree cards.

The other Crabtree card I snagged this week is out of Donruss Threads. I don't care much for Threads this year, but I have to say I very much like this insert set:

2009 Donruss Threads Michael Crabtree Rookie Collection jersey/auto #/50
CrabtreeThreads.jpg

I think it's interersting to note that the jersey cutout on that card is shaped roughly like Crabtree's head... :D

Finally this week, I've got a very sweet addition to the Freeman PC. I've wanted one of these since the product debuted and I was able to grab a great looking one for an even better price. Without further ado...

2009 Limited Josh Freeman Phenoms patch/auto RC #/149
FreemanLimitedRC.jpg

4 colors, a ridiculous number of breaks and one more RC down.

Next week, I should have my first Exquisite cards to post, a I'm hoping to have a brand new cornerstone in the Freeman PC. Should be a big week, looking forward to it! Thanks for the read and as always, comments are welcome!! :D

That Freeman is very sick. I also love the Crabtrees. If they become available for trade then please lmk.

Aaron

Thanks, Aaron! I absolutely love that Freeman Limited, but next week I'm hoping to have one that tops it, be sure to check back!

Also, PM sent! :D

Another week, another bunch of bubble mailers! It was a slow mail week, so only a small update. But everything I got this week was for my Freeman PC, so it's all good stuff!

First off, in my continuing quest to pick up a Freeman auto from every Panini product, I picked up these two cards:

2009 Donruss Certified Josh Freeman Freshman Fabrics jersey/auto RC 199/249
FreemanCertifiedRC.jpg

2009 Playoff Contenders Josh Freeman RPS Rookie Ticket auto RC
FreemanContenders.jpg

I love the Contenders auto, both because it's on card and because his signature is bigger and shows up better than most of the RPS guys this year.

Finally, I received my first Freeman 1/1 this week. It's not the one I was hoping would come in, but it'll definitely do:

2009 Topps Triple Threads Josh Freeman Triple Relic Platinum 1/1
FreemanTTT1of1.jpg

And that's it for now. Next week, I'm looking forward to getting some very special cards (and if I don't, some eBay sellers will be hearing from me). Thanks again for the read and comments are always welcome!! :D
