Is the NHL Finished Forever?

Usually I don't watch, care about, or even consider hockey as a North American priority, but I'd like some opinions here. Considering the lack of interest in the NHL overall, is mainstream hockey in the U.S. done, for good?

Compared to the baseball strike a decade ago, there was virtually no fan support or public outcries. No one seemed to care. The players don't care about giving the fans what they want. Neither do the owners.

I am not a hockey fan to say the least, and I'm actually happy there is no season. However, this could be a valid point, because in real terms, the NHL is overlooked, and rightfully so.

This isn't an attack on hockey fans, but I'm just glad we can focus on basketball more now.

thanks, I think this post has been beaten to death, wouldnt this have been better suited in the hockey section, since the hockey collectors rarely venture out and that is your target audience. All your going to do is get battered over here by anti hockey posts.

^ditto, also everyones entitled to their own opinion, I guess you just have to switch things around and put your self in the situation where the NBA season was cancelled and hockey was up and running.

I just don't see why investors haven't started up a new league and signed all the old NHL'ers to some nice contracts. This is the perfect time to step in and take over.
