I recently started grabbing some cards of the few McDougall players I could find, since that's my fiancee's last name. There aren't a ton, and I'm pretty much done except for some rare minor league issues and these vintage pieces.

I don't know much about vintage cards, I think the oldest card I currently have is a Bourque RC, so just looking for some advice.

Here are the three cards I need:

1951-52 Bas Du Fleuve #20 Thomas McDougall
1951-52 Laval Dairy QSHL #45 Thomas McDougall
1952-53 St. Lawrence Sales #84 Tom McDougall

I already picked this one up.
Laval Dairy ungraded

It was a manageable price, and seemed to be in pretty good shape, especially compared to some of the others in that scan. I don't really need them to be graded... in fact I somewhat despise graded cards for storage and display reasons, but I'm more accepting for 60+ year old cards. So here's what I've found of the other two.

Bas Du Fleuve PSA 5 - $80
Bas Du Fleuve PSA 7 - $100

and

St. Lawrence Sales ungraded - $12
St. Lawrence Sales PSA 6 - $48

They are all from the same seller, simgin. Judging by some of his prices on the other Laval ones he has graded, he overvalues them quite a bit. And seems to be one of the only people sending this stuff in to be graded. He's been stingy so far on the best offer options, coming back with $10 twice on the ungraded card, so I'm not too optimistic on the others. Does anybody have experience with him? Am I right that he's asking too much? Should I just avoid him and wait it out for other copies? I'm not in that big of a hurry, I only started looking last week.

Or even better, does someone on here have or know where to get copies of these cards? I don't care too much about the condition, at least initially, I just want a copy.

Thanks in advance for any comments.

Cole, those cards are really quite easy to find.Specially if condition is not an issue. After all you are not asking for Beliveau or Plante. As far as simgin goes.He is very tough when it comes to excepting offers.I tried for 3 months to finish my Parkhurst wrestling set with him.The cards I wanted were listed with him,and on a card that he was asking $40.00 he refused my offer of $34.00 several times. But he has a lot of nice stuff and I am sure he does not really need to sell so he can wait it out until that right buyer comes along. If you want I can take your list to the local show this weekend and see if they may be there.Good luck with your search,Winston.

I have dealt with him in the past and found his pricing "reasonable" for vintage.
Never had an issue with a transaction or item received..

Good Luck

I've dealt with Simgin before and he is definitely difficult to negotiate with. He's got great stuff, some cards that really don't pop up too often, but I've found that he won't come down too much from his prices. They're usually higher than they should be, not ridiculously so. With vintage patience can be your biggest asset.

Echo

I can only echo what the previous three have said about simgin. There is another site you should consider. capsports2000 or capitol sport cards. they have an excellent selection and pretty reasonable prices compared to Simgin. They don't have advertized negotiable pricing but they will deal if you e-mail them what you want and your offer. Just trying to help my friend
