I dropped by my mom's condo yesterday to pick up some stuff she got for my daughter and she had been digging in her storage room going through boxes. She found all my old hockey trophies and team pictures from minor hockey and a bunch of other interesting things from my past.
One thing she dug up was this:
I attended this game with my dad getting close to 30 years ago. I faintly remember it as I was 8 years old. His good friend was a guy named Bob Patterson who was the team photographer for the Oilers at the time. Mr. Patterson was nice enough to take me into the WHL All Star dressing room after the game and introduce me to some of the players and get my game program auto'd. I missed quite a few guys I see now but got some pretty cool ones looking back on it:
Wayne's auto looks pretty weird, but I guess he was young and probably rushed it. Who knows. And finally this page might give a few other Edmontonians a laugh as many of these guys are still active in the media around here. And I see a few names that have unfortunately passed on now:
