That's interesting - I am happy the Rangers are at 16, less happy with the Leafs at #21, although, who knows with how they usually draft guys.

I am happy the Leafs will likely be out of the range of drafting Kopitar, which is who they would probably have picked.

Montreal is a pretty big winner too.

Man,
Edmonton got screwed heh.

I'd say Florida got screwed, but nuts to them, trade your first overalls, that's what you get.

*watches pens fans fall out of the woodwork*

I can't imagine a better team for him to go to. East coast, a weak team that needs a new arena. And, oh yeah, playing the powerplay with the greatest offensive weapon ever to play in the NHL!!!!!!!

Being a Rangers' fan, it hurts to see the Penguins get the #1 pick. However, I'd much rather see him in Pittsburgh than Anaheim. At least I will see him play regularly and won't have to stay up to PST for the games. Pittsburgh also "needed" a pick of this magnitude to get fans back in their arena.

I'd say Montreal, Ottawa, and Vancouver did pretty well. They were the last 3 teams with only 1 ball picked, and they were all in the top 10.

Does this mean too, that Ovechkin might not end up with the Caps since they are shown at 14th? Or does this lottery not affect his status? Wasn't sure, so I'm asking.

YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEES, can't wait for the powerpaly of the early 90's to be back!!! Lemieux, Crosby and the grinder Recchi....PENS are back baby.

Ovechkin was already drafted by Washington in the 2004 draft. This lottery had NOTHING to do with Ovechkin.

Thanks Jay, I was sure he had been already, but didn't feel like looking it up. I already misread one report on him this week, so didn't want to look even dumber than now. :o

Oh boy! The Penguins can ruin another #1 draft pick like they did with MA Fleury! Maybe Lemieux can screw Crosby out of bonuses too like he did last time with Fleury! Maybe it's just me, but I don't want awesome talent going to wasteland teams like Lemieux has allowed the Penguins to become.

How disappointing. :(

The Pens have tons of FA $$$ to spend on defense (especially since their offense can be found at SWB), and I wouldn't be surprised to see more Andy Chiodo than MA Fleury in net. Maybe it's the big glass of Penguins kool-aid that I just drank doing the typing, but the Penguins have a chance to make this into a pretty good situation for many years to come...go Pens!

from a die-hard penguins fan, it is safe to say that nothing can ruin my night...

i am still shaking!

Lets hope Crosby can bring in more than the die hard Pen's fans and they can score a new stadium!! Never wanted the Pen's to fold and now they more than likely won't..:D
