A very much long awaited issue, for me personally and probably nobody else.
I saw these back in November - epack type stuff - and jumped on COMC to grab maybe the first hard copy that showed up
With it mailed out early November it didn't quite beat teh mail strike.
But it did arrive yesterday and let's have a standing Ovation and give a Big Hand to Upper Deck for once again including my man Burkie in a set
2022 Burke UD Ovation Big Hand F by Ironman Indy, on Flickr
A beautiful clear cut acetate non digital, it's real and its spectacular
A 1 in 150 epack pull I believe - I know it's a little high on my show list, actually a little low as you have to scroll down, but I digress
Loves me a new licensed Burke card
Time to go back to the Hurricanes again, these were too nice to appear earlier
Martin Necas:
I realized as he soared early on to the top of the NHL leaderboard, that I did not have any Necas rookie cards. Well time to change that and pick up a couple small ones to fill that void, at the same time probably jinx his great start
2017 Necas UD Cup Auto F by Ironman Indy, on Flickr
2017 Necas SPA FWA 999 F by Ironman Indy, on Flickr

It's not the SAT finals but the Final hockey card
Barney SAT by Ironman Indy, on Flickr
'Lachrymose' is to 'dyspeptic' as 'ebullient' is to...
2022 Liut Cup Effervescence AU F by Ironman Indy, on Flickr
'effervescent'! Alright, Harvard here I come!
Can't hear or see the word effervescence without thinking of the great Simpsons scene where Homer ruins Barney's chances at getting into Harvard by introducing him to beer
Speaking of The Simpsons, those who know me, and luckily most of you don't, I am a huge Simpsons fan and was a big time coillector once upon a time
Well one of those FB groups like Non Sports card Nonsense or some similar nonsense had this next card appear
I was not aware of it back in the day and when I saw this as a Card Collector and Simpsons fanatic I had to track one down
They came in I believe Bongo Simpsons comics as a promotion back in the second series of The Simpsons trading cards back in the early 90s. I didn't collect the comics, moreso figures and oddball stuff.
The comics can be found now but the cards are usually removed or gone and there are graded versions with the card inside but who wants that, I need to see it
I found a graded version in nice shape that was reasoanbly affordable and was delighted to add this to my collection
I give you Willy "The Dupe" Dipkin
1994 Dipkin SkyBox Simpsons Series II Promos F by Ironman Indy, on Flickr
Love the FISH FACE on the bat knob. A great parody of the infamous Fleer Billy Ripken card. There are no variations as far as I know
Thanks everyone for stopping by. I hope 2025 is a great year with regards to family and collecting for everyone
Cheers!!
