Anders Lindback trade to Tampa Bay

I thought for sure Luongo was gonna go to TB, Yzerman took a cheaper/solid potential option in Lindback. Such a big goalie.

what sucks about this trade is that luongo will be a leaf,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, I was hoping for lindback to be in a leaf uniform, I really like this kid,,,,, Good job stevie in getting this goalie

Not sure what Dustin Tokarski has to do to get an NHL job... 32-11 GAA 2.23 12-2 in the Calder Cup.. Won a Calder Cup.. Led the team on a crazy winning streak.. not sure why he does not deserve a chance..

I guess Yzerman wasn't lying when he said he didn't want Luongo and wanted a younger goalie.

So does that rule out Harding for TB? If Luongo goes to Toronto that would give Columbus a shot at Harding.

Speaking of Columbus, it was reported they made several offers for Lindback but Nashville denied offers because of them being in the same division.

Good trade for TB. They have extra picks, including 2 in the first round.

If Lindback becomes a legit starter, it'll be a steal. He has the potential to put up some really good numbers.

I didn't think Luongo was going to TB. They just can't offer anything that would really help the Canucks, without trading some core young players like Hedmen or Connolly. Canucks weren't really interested in Malone or a player like Panik. Tokarski could be part of the deal, but it's not like he's an elite goalie. Yzerman already said that he wanted to go younger. Some thought it might have been some trade strategy, but it was true.

True, but I think it was more Vancouver couldnt offer enough. TB wanted youth and potential, Luo was a last resort at best.

That being said, does this all but guarantee Luo is a leaf??? With the play of RL and the leafs defense, something tells me it will be more of the same with the leafs goaltending situation... But who knows until it happens.

i hate to see Anders go. he's a funny guy but what are you gonna do? Preds top draft pick from last season, goalie Magnus Hellberg (2nd rd, 1st goalie drafted) is on his way over from Sweden for his 1st season in North America and i think Jeremy Smith is ready to back Peks up. Plus that's a heck of a return on the investment. 'ders was a 7th rd pick (that went undrafted the previous season), Kyle Wilson (also sent to TB in the deal) was a f/a pick up last season that spent the year in Mil. and a 7th rd pick for 2 2nd rd picks plus a 3rd next year is great. esp. since the Preds didnt have a pick in either of the first 2 rounds

Kinda what I was thinking too. Maybe they want another AHL season out of him before coming up. I wanted to see him start.

Anyway it looks like a solid trade for both teams, I am interested in what happens with luongo next. I thought he was going to go to Tampa Bay for sure

Yzerman is showing a lot more GM savvy and patience than i give him credit for. TO is really Luongo's only probably destination now; otherwise, he'll remain a Nuck if both teams can't come to terms.

Given that the rumours that the Luongo->Toronto deal is complete but waiting on the draft day for Burke to make a splash perhaps this was plan B for Yzerman?

Either way it's a great pickup for Yzerman.

The Florida Panthers are apparently another possible destination.

Tokarski got called up last year and after he played solid in his first few games, he got beat pretty good and was not consistant enough to be looked at right now. He is not ready for a starting role, the AHL is different than the NHL. Let him mature some more, he needs it.

Are you talking about josh harding of the wild? If so I have a feeling he will be the wilds starter after the trade deadline as backstrom will/needs to go. But that just imo
