Anders Lindback trade to Tampa Bay

Are you talking about josh harding of the wild? If so I have a feeling he will be the wilds starter after the trade deadline as backstrom will/needs to go. But that just imo
Yes, Josh Harding but don't forget, he is a UFA come July 1st. I have a feeling Harding would probably want to be a starter somewhere and not be a backup again. Also, potentially getting a lot more money from another team rather then staying in Minny wouldn't hurt. Only way I can see him stay in Minny is if they tell him he would just need to be the backup for one more year and after that, he'll be the starter. In order for him to bite, I think they would need to offer him a multi year deal with decent money and not a 1 year deal. He seems loyal towards the Wild so maybe he is willing to be a backup for one more year, knowing that Backstrom is a UFA and getting up their in age. Also, if he does get a multi year deal with good money, it kind of shows that the Wild is commited to him and most likely wouldn't go after another goalie to be the starter in 2013.

Not sure what Dustin Tokarski has to do to get an NHL job... 32-11 GAA 2.23 12-2 in the Calder Cup.. Won a Calder Cup.. Led the team on a crazy winning streak.. not sure why he does not deserve a chance..

Hes not ready yet. Close but needs another year, maybe two, to work on some things.

I wouldnt be surprised to see either Tokarski or Janus moved as part of a package for a defeseman now.

We have one too many goalies right now, Lindback obviously isnt going anywhere, Garon is supposed to be the experienced backup who can play a decent amount of games but its possible he moves, and then you have Helenius, Tokarski, Janus fighting for two jobs in the AHL. One of them will be moved. Its possible Janus just isnt qualified but I doubt that.

So another 1-2 years would put him in the AHL for 4 or 5 years. Tampa is doing nothing for this kids confidence. He had a record setting playoff and helped the Admirals to a season that will in all likely hood never be repeated.
Would you consider Braden Holtby Ready?

He has been in the league for as long and does not have the same numbers.
He is a RFA at the end of 12-13 it just seems like he deserves a shot with this signing it most likely spells his end..

Holtby has been playing in the NHL for 3 years now and did that playoff run in the NHL not the AHL. I don't see how you can compare the two?

Tokarski had a shot last year at the end of the Stasi to step up and show them that he is ready. He they gave him chances and he didn't shine. One playoff run in the AHL is not gonna change if he is ready or not. He got pulled two or three times when he was brought up to play with Tampa, and it wasn't a pull because the team was playing horrible. I like him a lot and I hope he starts one day but that time is not next year to bein him up and let him suffer for a season if he doesn't so well. They needed to bring someone in.

Holtby has played 21 NHL games not 3 years and played on a playoff team. not sure if you consider 7 games in 2 years a "shot" at the NHL. I think comparing the 2 is fair because what they both did was unexpected. I do not think anyone expected Holtby to have a playoff like he did... and the same can be said for Tokarski. 32-11 is pretty special. I think he will get his shot it just may not be with Tampa...

If Dean Lombardi has taught anything to the rest of the NHL, it's to not anoint any one young goaltender in your system as the future #1. By making all of his talented goalies challenge for the 1 job, he's brought out Jon Quick here in LA along with Toskala, Nabokov and Kiprusoff in San Jose. Kiprusoff became a top goalie later in Calgary, Nabokov was the true starter while Toskala was used by Doug Wilson in the deal that brought the pick used to get Logan Couture.

Lindback is just one guy in the system now. So is Tokarski. And Yzerman may not be done yet. The goaltending thing has been a problem for TB since day one.
