5 year $125 million. A lot of money and I think to long for Hamilton(by only two years though).

Also this is interesting, apparently Hamilton said he would give Texas a chance to match any offer but the Rangers claim that they didn't get a chance to. Now Hamilton didn't need to, even if he promised, it just makes it a bigger rivalry between the two teams.

Greinke is 6yrs $147M; $24.5M per season. Sabathia signed a 7yr $161M deal, $23M per season, back in 2009. I think that giving that much money to any pitcher is just ridiculous. So I would generally say that the Greinke signing is more risky. But Hamilton's injury history is something that the Angels now have to be seriously concerned with. He tends to play all-out and has gotten hurt because of it. I don't think that either of these signings are particularly bad, they are just extremely risky and could blow up in faces of the two So-Cal teams.

Just remember that David Price is going to be the first pitcher to surpass $25M per when he becomes a free agent in a couple of years. He may even give A-Rod a run for highest paid player in all of baseball.

He said the Rangers could match incase someone like the Indians sent him an offer so he wouldn't have to live in Clevland. But, why would he give up living in Cali, yeah right like he was going back to the Rangers.

I also think the Angels said, "You have to decide now. If you go back to the Rangers to let them match it then our offer is no longer on the table". The money/length is a lot and I don't think he would have gotten it from other teams so he couldn't let this get away. I would have assumed that the Rangers would have declined and Hamilton might have assumed the same. Plus, like you said, he's going to Cali and the Angels could be a solid team if they get more pitching help.

Kershaw's new contract will make David Price's look like chump change. The Dodgers will throw the moon at him and they have the money to do it.

Trout, Pujols, Hamilton scares the hell out of any pitcher in the AL especially when they face one after the other in the batting order.

Angels will score enough runs that it will essentially give their pitchers a 3 run cushion to work with.

true and they have players like Trumbo/Morales/Kendrick. Don't really follow a lot of baseball, especially players/teams I have no interest in but aren't they decent as well?

Has this ever worked? There's no balance to that team. I don't think they're going to be as tough as people may think. This has disaster written all over it.
