Another big winter Blue Jays trade

Im not happy to see Lawrie leave. I was hoping he would be one of the core players of this team for years to come. But he had too many injury problems in TO and didnt really hit his stride.

Donaldson has already surpassed what Lawrie's ceiling is now. The Jays at a minimum stay the same if not better on defense - and gain a far better and more patient hitter than Lawrie. Lawrie's intensity is a plus - but it also hurt him in so many ways - especially when it came to pitch selection - or just general situational awareness

I am disappointed because Lawrie is a hometown (Langley, BC) guy; however, Donaldson is one of, if not the best 3B in baseball. He has the second highest WAR in all of baseball over the past two seasons 15.4 (only behind Mike Trout: 16.7). I am very intrigued to see how his power translates playing 81 games at the bandbox that is the Rogers Centre. The lineup looks very, very scary right now. I would like to see them add one more left handed bat to balance things out a little bit. But we'll just have to wait and see how things shake out.
