Verified Trader,
This actually relates to a basketball card, but the story is really centered around the current eBay environment...
So I have a Jordan Exquisite card up for sale. Put a lofty BIN but no one hit. Get an offer of $999.00 so I take it. Here's the auction:
My auction
A few days go by and I hear nothing from the buyer. I send him a note to "touch base" and see when he's going to send me my grand. He replies telling me he's waiting on payment for a few items, it was taking longer than he thought, but it should only be a couple more days. So i look at his selling history. Guess what I find?
Auction he's waiting for payment on
So, he's basically trying to flip my card for a profit. If he makes out, I get paid. If he doesn't, then I get stuck. Well, looks like I'm stuck. So now, do you play nice, back out of the deal, recover your fees and move on - or do you make his life hell with reporting image theft and all the other things I can think of. Oh yeah, and then get the negative feedback for pressing him on it. So I take the high road, let him back out with the mutual agreement, recover my fees, and move along. All because eBay has a system geared towards screwing the sellers and letting the buyers have all the leverage.
What are your thoughts?
Oh yeah, he gave me a positive feedback for being "so cool"
